Well with Hoovield injured why does Mowbray not try Rogne beside Loovens. I've nothing against Thomson i think he will be a great player but if he's willing to give Thomson (18 year old) a chance why not Rogne who is 19. Rogne and Hoovield played against Blackburn up againts a very decent strike force in Roberts and Diouf. When Hoovield is fit i think it should Hoovield and Rogne at the back. Personally i think Loovens is an accident waiting to happen, just feel no confidence with him what so ever. :shamrock:

I'd welcome a chance for Rogne to start, Loovens is a walking time-bomb.
Would Tony Mowbray risk playing another youngster at the back when we're playing catch-up, unless we get more injuries - I think not. -
-
Yeah thats what i was thinking. If Hoovield was fit i think he would give Rogne his chance sooner rather than later.
-
Tbh i wouldnt risk it right now i agree with getting rid of Loovens but i wouldnt throw in a 19 year old inexperienced defender, If we play this guy right and wait till pre-season and give him a shout then we could be on to a winner. No need to throw him in now and damage his confidence playing next to a donkey like loovens.
-
Ive yet to see rogne play but hes a big boy, although i think once hoivield is fit then it will be him and loovens partnering eachother.
-
Loovens is a bomb scare but Rogne and Thompson would be too young to playing together. Rogne has the experience thought playing against Valencia in the Europa league this year against silva and Villa.

I think Rogne actually has a fair amount of experiance of playing 1st team football - more than Thomson has, he was 1st pick at his old club before getting injured.
Still canny see him getting past Loovens though, unless he makes a massive impact in training.
A settled back 4 for the rest of the season when everyone is fit will probably be:
Hinkel--Loovens--Hooivelt--Braffheid
GER------NED-------NED-------NED
I'd really love to see Braffheid get signed up long term, but Rogne could really push Loovens for a starting place in the 1st team, but probably pre-season as said earlier.
Mowbray really has high hopes for him & Hooivelt by the sounds of it, but still wanted Ramis anyway - so he doesn't see him as ready right now. -

WAITING to happen?...We're well past that stage mate!! haha :56: -
Loovens has to play simply for his experience, after that its a toss up between Thompson and Rogne for me. Hoovield will probaly be first pick when hes fit again though...

I'd say the only reason that Thompson is playing over Rogne is that Thompson has been waiting longer.
Another thing, we've had alot worse defenders than Loovens. -
Thomas Rogne.
First impressions?? Before yous all go he only played half an hour.
Personally thought he looked very composed and tidy. His ball contribution looked brilliant, very good passer of the ball. Many people will say "No way can we play two teenagers in defense" but I wouldnt be too against it. Thought Loovens was poor tonight as he has been for the whole season but he's always a threat at corners but I think we could slip Rogne in no problem. -

thought loovens had a good game tonight tbh with him getting a goal. he was winning balls and headers tonight which was quite unusual of him, a defender :L

Looked good, but not much action to judge from. Thompson also had a nice game.
-
i thought his long passing looked good, bit like caldwell wasnt tested defensively though

Aye, he did well enough.

I think he will play Loovens for the rest of the season based on experiance.
