It's been out for 2 (?) weeks now.
What do you think?
Struggled to get into it for the first few hours, but think it's getting better and better the longer I play.
Do you just follow quests and side quests or roam around the world? I try to do both, but got my * kicked by some monster when I travelled a bit too far into unfamiliar territory.
Great atmosphere and digging the stories this far. Not given much attention into improving my character or his gear yet though.

Absolutely love it. Must have played it for about 40 hours by now, it's so addictive.
I roam around and do side quests mostly, checking out undiscovered locations and doing Witcher contracts etc. Think I still have a fair chunk of the main story left.
The soundtrack is fantastic, and the graphics are stunning. It's really immersive. -
I played it for an hour or two on release day. I found it incredibly boring to be honest. My brother (who has played it for about 70 hours thus far) says it gets better once you get through the prologue but I just cannot motive myself to play even 1 more minute of it.
I also had bad fps drop (on PS4) but I believe that is being patched. -
I am choking to get it but have an exam next week so I am putting all gaming on hold. I didn't like the combat in the witcher 2 and only played a small bit of it but I am really interested in this.

Been playing it for about a week now, so far I've found it pretty boring and the unresponsive controls * me off. The combat system feels really one-dimensional compared to something like Shadow of Mordor. Very few interesting quests either - why do I have to go and fetch some * goat for him?

Haven't touched the main quest in about 3 or 4 days, just exploring and doing side quests/treasure hunts. It's incredible how much there is to do.

Genuinely love it, havent been sucked into a gaming experience like this since new vegas, duno how many hours I'm on but I'd say its getting close to 20

I just bought this today for PS4 and it downloaded the latest patch 1.04 I think it was. My audio is skipping when I use my headset, anyone else having this problem? Or know if theres a fix?
-
Got it and only done a few main quests spent the rest of the time going round on a boat
-
Turns out the sound issue only happens at the main menu which is a relief. Game is jaw dropping gorgeous, would love to have a super rig to see how it'd look on that. -
I hated the first game, controls were terrible and stopped playing less than an hour in.
Second game had the same problem, got a bit further in and the story was cool, but I found Geralt a boring and unlikable character so stopped playing around 5ish hours in.
Witcher 3 though, I love the story, Geralt seems a lot more badass and having played about 40+ hours of it now, I'm a massive fan.
I still however, think the controls are terrible, I probably would have given up playing this were it not for the controller support and my xbox one controller I have plugged in. If any of you are playing on PC with M&KB then I really feel for you. The game just seems so much more natural with a controller.
I love the Velen area, Novigrad's gotten a bit boring but I'm off to Skellige soon so hopefully that's fun!
Most immersive open-world game I've played since Skyrim/Fallout, highly recommend it for the story, plot and character development, point off for the a fore mentioned controls and the fact that it crashes once ever couple of hours.Last edited by a moderator: Jun 7, 2015 -

Started playing this in the last few days. Takes a bit of time to get the hang of everything, it's a massive, massive game but I'm really enjoying it. The character/story interaction and the effect you can have on the outcome of a quest is the best part of it imo.

Love it.
I'm taking my time playing it. I'm still in Velen, since there is so much to do. I like the side quests. There's something about them that feels like it has more depth than the usual collect/kill missions. -
Idioteque I’ll laugh until my head comes off
Great game. Can't wait to play it again tomorow
