Aye it's a big open world game. Split into a few areas but the second is huge.

It's not as exploration friendly as Skyrim, if that makes sense. I had more fun exploring in Skyrim and Fallout.

Going to get this for my birthday.

Quite fancy giving it a go.

    Never opted for Skyrim.

Guess the nearest I might have played to it in recent times is Shadow of Mordor (which I thought was excellent).

Got a hold of this over the weekend.

Looking forward to getting into it after I've got rid of one or two other games.

    Started this, really enjoyable.

Not bothering about the Gwent though, not for me.

i told myself that too and then when it got to the point when i had a lot of incomplete quests on my list that were all gwent related i thought * it and just started playing everyone and trying to collect as many cards as possible.

once you get your head around it and start winning a few decent cards it does get quite enjoyable

I was under the impression there was only 1 assoicated quest with Gwent?

Tbh, I've now moved out of Willow Orchid, so don't believe I can do anything about it now, so I'd be farting around knowing I can't complete the Gwent quest (collect them all?).

no there are more gwent specific quests than that. i think there is a specific quest for each region where you have to beat 3 or 4 people in each region and there is another one where you have to beat your friends too

made the exact same mistake myself :54:

You can still get the card, It's in a box on the unit/cupboard to right of the desk in his office. You'll fail the quest associated with beating him, which I think locks out the other unique Gwent opponents/cards from that questline (although I'm honestly not sure about this), but you still get his unique card.

It really is an addicting little game. I ignored it for the longest time, but then I decided I wanted the trophy for collecting all the cards. Trying to find random merchants I hadn't already played was a nightmare.

It's the failed quest that bugs me but never knew you could still get the card Wil have a look.

Nah, sacked the Gwent, fk playing cards.

Bores me shitless, I'll just live with avoiding a few cut-scenes.

Same for Alchemy, don't have a fkn clue about that too, so just hope to fk I have a decent pair of swords.

Loving the game though and enjoying a lot of the stories and sub-quests.

There is a few that do confuse me though, Velen fighting still is open even though I decided to let the last guy win after his story, but it doesn't mark as completed so I guess I would need to beat him and then it would complete, but then there would be consequences. Bit weird.

Losing/throwing a fight dosent stop you from completing the quest. You can let them win the fight, then immediately challenge them again and win; there's no consequences for doing so.

Oh right, I thought something happened with the last dude if you beat him? Hmmmm.......

I am really enjoying it though, although there are some amount of quests to be done.

Finally completed the campaign for this. I wasn't really invested in the story but the characters were all great. The ending I got was fantastic, really glad that it finished the way it did.

I've went back and forth with opinions but so far this is my GOTY. After playing MGSV for a couple of days and loving it I said I thought that was better...but I've barely played it in a month and I know I'll rarely play it again. It's just far too repetitive.

Looking forward to this Witcher expansion pack.

I agree completely with you about it being the GOTY so far (Fallout 4 is probably the only game that really has a chance of suprassing it for me). Despite some iffy writing towards the end, it's head and shoulders above any other game I've played this year.

What ending did you get out of curiosity? I got the
    Ciri becomes a Witcher
ending first time, but I replayed that last two acts to see the
    Empress
ending which I thought was the better of the two (the 'Bad' ending is pretty good as well).

You've actually reminded me that I need to buy the first expansion pack. The reviews I've seen have all been pretty good, so I'm looking forward to it.
