We've read everything from blaming Lennon, to the board, to Keane etc etc etc...I've still not seen much slating for our 'captain' yesterday? He is now doing that little he just passes under the radar as if he isn't even there.
Where was the determined and ballsy centre mid we're told he is yesterday? Where has he been all season? Why is our side being led by a non-entity who isn't even accountable for his own shortcomings never mind being able to cajole the guys around about him?
I am perplexed with this guy I really am. Can someone, once and for all, let me into the big secret about him? What does he honestly bring to our side in a positive sense?

He doesn't win the ball, he can't pass well enough, he doesn't get forward, he doesn't cover his defence, he can't shoot, he can't take set pieces. As Captain, he doesn't take responsibility on the park, he doesn't communicate with his teammates, he doesn't get the fans going, he doesn't instruct anyone.
I really thought the arrival of Mowbray would be the making of him. Especially after getting made Captain. Looks like McManus is on the way back afterall. -
Cant add to much to that Hammer ,the guy is lost on me ,why people think he is a player ill never know .

he has had long enough now,we were robbed by hibs,he is a half mill pound
player at best.
the excuses have all ran out now,(bereavement, injury, operation)it aint
goin to happen.
there is no leadership on the park and he is our alleged captain
when he was out for two long spells the team played better.
two years ago we won the leage when robson took his place,
not a coincidence! -
After Neil Lennon's first game in charge he said he wanted Broony to get forward a lot more. I saw no evidence of that yesterday. Broony spent much of the game around the centre circle, much the same as he has all season. Either he totally ignored Lennon's instructions or Neily has had a change of heart about how he wants to use our captain.
I've stuck up for Broony for a long time but he needs to get his finger out. Now! -

The thing that struck me about yesterday was that there wasnt a single leader on the park. There isn't 1 player at the club to say 'Here this is Celtic, you meet the standard expected or you leave'. The players don't understand what this club is about and there's no one to boot people up the hole when the players start feeling sorry for themselves. There was no anger or passion yesterday out any of them yesterday.
Brown's performance as captain was laughable but there's no big characters at the club anymore. The first thing we need to do is get in a strong manager and bring leaders into the club. Things will improve big time if we do that but it takes invesment....Last edited by a moderator: Apr 12, 2010 -
Brown has a cheek! probs 1 of the best payed at celtic park and he is terrible!

my cousin was there mate at parkhead with 2 of my mates and they dont rate samaras but they said it was out of order as he and lennon spoke to the crowd.. when others ran inside and in their cars lennon and samaras had the guts to talk to the fans even though he clearly got the worse reception... my cousin likes him now lol and my mates said although hes not theiir best player he should be respected for listening to the fans and talking with them lets remember hers only just turned 24 and hes gettin abused right in his face and he kept apologising while mcgeady is tryin to fight with people -
I said to people after the game that other than a ball across the 6 yard box I cannot recall Brown's name being mentioned in the entire second half. For a centre midfield player that is criminal. For a centre midfield captain it is unforgiveable.
When your team is performing the way we did on Saturday you must see a bit of passion coming from the captain at least. I didn't notice him, never mind his passion.
No doubt we'll get the "wait til he's fully fit" excuses we're used to. The truth is he's a dud. -

Ive said before that Nguemo had a nightmare 40mins but he done more in that time than our captain done in the whole game.
I think he is a player that really feeds on confidence, at the moment his must be rock bottom cause his performance on saturday was dire! -

He is still injured, his teammates are injured, he is still young and going to develop into a worldclass player. :icon_mrgreen:
on a serious note, for €4.4mio I expect less than 3-4+ years for a native to settle down. still no signs of that. -
