Is this the first time we've been properly linked with him?

This season, aye I think so. Last January I'm pretty sure we were linked with 4 or 5 young United players including Souttar.
I'd be happy to sign him, always been impressed whenever I've seen him. I'd rather have him than Danny Wilson. -
Fs why don't we buy the team

Would definately take Souttar,great prospect.
-
Would rather Souttar than Wilson because he is much younger which means there is more room to develop him.

He played well on Sunday, can't say I've taken much notice of him before that.
-
I'd be very happy signing in him and Ciftci for £1.5m combined. -
My only concern about singing either is next year having a defensive partnership of Wilson and Souttar. I don't think either have what it takes to be thrown into that scenario in Europe.
Ideally I would want to be able to choose from Souttar, Denayer, VVD and Wilson as centre backs next season. Souttar would also offer options resting or filling in for Brown or Bitton in midfield. -
Soutars contract runs out in January so we can get him for a tribunal fee if Dundee Utd don't accept an offer and we could sign him on a precontract in August I am sure.
-
Never really rated Souttar while he was a centre back but thought he looked much improved against us in midfield at the weekend, just 18 and coming into the final year of his deal could be picked up for a reasonable fee.

Game on the weekend is the first time I've been properly impressed with him and he was playing as an anchor man.
Was quite quick and good on the ball, read the game well as well. -
Soutar is awful! If you watch him play each week he's no where near Celtic quality, if you take a look at Dundee United forum they are all desperate to get rid of him! Don't need him in my opinion

I'd take him and his "wee" brother Harry - 16 years old, almost two meters tall and apparently a great prospect

Nadir has downed tools already, he has been in the creamer since his mates got their moves. I personally, would be more gutted at them taking Souttar tbh.
As for Souttar, he needs to now be at the top of the list for a new contract. A new 3 year deal must be offered to him ASAP.
Get Souttar on a Narey contract NOW!
there are definitely more positive comments than negative and i havent seen one that mentions getting rid of him.
any negative comments seem to be more about how he is being played by jackie mc. seem to have been crying for him in midfield for some time now. -
Souttar is definitely a midfielder long term from what I've seen. To be honest, considering he hasn't even finished growing you wonder why he hasn't been put there already instead of at the back.

Yes from me thought he was really good against Dundee marked a ( very tired) Stefan Johansson completely out of the game and what's the story any time there's two brothers everybody always always always says the younger one is rated higher?
