thought i'd start a new thread for the 2nd leg considering how congested the other is? :bbpd:

song fagregas arshavin and gallas the main players out for arsenal, barca are without pique & puyol (suspended) and sama..sorry ibrahimovic :52: who is injured.

BBC Sport - Football - Barcelona v Arsenal

i reckon 2-0 barcelona, hopefully another showing of how the beautiful game should be played. :shamrock:

I hope barca play Milito and Maraquez in defense because Chygrynskiy is a bombscare. Or they could play Abidal at centre half and move Mexwel bck to left back. I also hope Guardiola goes with Messi Bojan and Perdo upfront rather than playing Henry as Ibra is injured.

Arsenal need to attack and score.Could be 1-1 with Barca through on away goals. However if Arsenal push too many players up early on I think they will be picked off with their defence and lose a couple.

Also how do you see the other games going? CSKA are a goal behind Inter but this could also end a score draw for me on the night. I think Man Utd may get through with a 1-0 and Lyon may have already done enough as well.

Not likely but if Lyon or CSKA win the CL, this would happen.

Arsenal are missing too many of there key players and with Sol looking like he will start it could be a long night for the Gunners. 3-0 to Barca

I can't wait for this, should be another really good game. Arsenal know they have to score, so they have to go for it really.

Barca's players are more replaceable than Arsenal's. Think they will control the game, but not necessarily win by a huge score.

    1-0 Barca

Barca losing their CB's should really be as big an issues for them as Arsenal losing their players. Camp Nou should be a journey too far for Arsenal, can't see them scoring.

I hope ManUre go out too, leaving no EPL clubs in the CL. ManUre have kinda been shown up to rely far too much on Rooney & actually have a poor squad. Same with Arsenal.

Barca, because they like to bring through their own players - probably have the most complete squad in world football. They don't spend as much money across their squad, they buy in quality for specific positions - where the academy has failed to deliver enough quality.
Arsenal do this to an extent by buying in young players, but they normally pay a high premium & seem to be very unlucky with injuries to them.

I can only see this going one way to be honest, a Barcelona win. I think they will dominate the majority of the game but will win by a small margin.

I don't think Messi was at his best in the first leg, hoping to see something magical tonight. Which he usually produces, on a regular basis. Thinking Pedro and Bojan will be given the nod before Henry tonight.

I think Alex Song is the player Arsenal will miss most tonight. He was the best player on the pitch for Arsenal in the first leg in my opinion and has been key to strengthening the defensive side to their game.

I hope Bojan plays tonight. He was outstanding on Saturday.

According to this news story, Pep has played down the threat that Walcott poses. Something to do with Walcott being rubbish, maybe?

Big, big Barca win for me.

While it's not fair to say that United have a "poor" squad, I don't think anyone would argue that they aren't what they were two years ago, with Ronaldo, their best player (by a mile) leaving, Tevez going (who admittedly I didn't feel would be as big a loss as he has been) and the spine of their squad aging. Ferdinand seemed to have cut out the daft errors but they have crept back in and I don't think Vidic is the impenetrable wall he once was either. There is not one quality world class midfielder, and in my opinion the team completely relys on Rooney. Now that he is out of the Bayern game I really don't see where the goals will come from, as Saturday showed that Berbatov can't play the lone striker role. The problem is that while United used to have quality in abundance they now have a lot of the same sort of level of players (Nani, Valencia etc) who are decent enough but don't have that spark of magic at the highest level that wins things like the Champions League.

Rooney, Evra and perhaps Vidic are the only three players in the team who could claim to be truly world class in their position. For a team competing to win the top prizes this isn't good enough. How many world class players do Barca have for example, around 7?

Back on topic though, I think even without Puyol and Pique Barcelona will have too much for Arsenal. Gabi Milito is an excellent centre half and either Toure or Marquez alongside him are both more than capable. Zlatan will probably be replaced by Bojan who was excellent at the weekend or Thierry Henry who although having a poor season is still a top striker.

The pace of Walcott caught Barca out big time last week and without doubt that is Barca's weakness (if you could call it that), they don't like to be played at with pace. If Arsenal want to get anything from the game then this is the way to do it. That being said I have never seen a team better at forcing their style onto a game and I think that is what will happen. I really can't see past a home win, probably by 2 or more goals. Fabregas, Song and Gallas are huge losses for Arsenal, who unlike Barca cannot replace quality with quality.

Barca should give Walcott as much time on the ball as he wants because hes * when he has too much time to think about itt.

Arsenal have nothing to lose today, just everything speaks for Barça. Personally I hope they absolutely trash Arsenal, however I put 3 quids on them... just in case.. would get 20 in return.

laim i agree utd rely to much on rooney as far as goals go , berbas world class on his day but thats not very often , i would say utd have maybe 6 world class players VDS, Vidic , Rio, evra , rooney and possibly flectcher who is one of the best and most consistent DMF goin atm.And the point you made about man utd not being good enough to win or really challenge for the top prizes is strange since theyre 2nd favourites to win the EPL and champions league and thats still with rooney out , main problem is utd dont have enough world class ATTACKING players like we had when rooney, ronaldo, tevez and berba were all together
