Basically, who will go in January.
If you were Tony Mowbray, who would you sell, and why?
-I could see Samaras going, no need to explain why I suppose.

SAMARAS MUST GO!!
Naylor is better than fox fox losses the ball too much, we need new cb new cm and mcdonald just needs a kick up the * and a decent strike partner. -
I may sound stupid, but who are 'the chuckle brothers'?

mizuno looks like mcginn and mccourt have passed him in the pecking order , hopefully he gets a wee 6month loan deal -
I'd say just Mizuno and Flood TBH... I cant see him making wholesale changes at xmas but I think that the team will be reshaped come the summer

To leave -
McManus, Caldwell, McDonald and Samaras for a start. (probably in summer, but Caldwell may go in january).....
We need 2 strikers and 2 central defenders. -
macdonald is going for sure. all the talk is of a lack of quality in the final 3rd. he is this lack of quality. we need a striker who can create goals out of nothing and not guys who need it handed to them on a plate and even then still * it up.

dont see much happening jan. but if i could in a dream world i would do
Gk+boruc,zaluska,cervi(on loan)
lb=fox,Naylor(sell),misun (back from injury)
rb=hinkel,wilson,caddis
cb=mcmanus(sell),caldwell(sell),loovens, odea, thompson(give the boy a chance every now and again)
cm=nguemo,zhi,crosas,new korean guy,brown(sell),flood(sell),robson
wingers=mcgeady,maloney,mccourt,mcginn,mizuno(loan)
strikers=fortune, samaras, killen(sell or just retire him!),mcdonald(sell if we can get a bit of money for him)
if everybody in brackets get sold or sent out on loan and we sign 1 good quality cb,a good quality striker and give the korean boy a chance if he is good enough then i think that is a very strong squad
should hopefully get some money for brown, mcdonald and anything for dumb and dumber at the back and killen just goes away!! -

Why everyone wants to get rid of Samaras is beyond me. Right missed a few last night but at least he works hard and gets himself in those positions and has shown he knows where the goal is. also dont want to see Skippy go but dont think Mogga is much of a fan of his. Hopefully McManus and Naylor go as well as Brown but only if a replacement is bought as i dont think Ki Sung Yong will play for a while.

To be honest, I am certain that there will be no massive clearout in January. Far more likely, it will only be 2-3 at most from the 1st team squad. So lets be rational. I'm not going to get carried away like some have been, clambouring for 1/2 the squad to be shown the door. Don't forget there has to be clubs out there willing to buy these players, and we can't just let everyone go, without having replacements lined up or signed up. Common sense really.
With Caldwell's contract winding down, he is almost a certainty (no loss there and not before time, in my opinion). I also wouldn't be surprised if McManus isn't far behind him either.
There has to be a question mark over Scott Brown. Obviously TM rates him highly, as did WGS before him & Burley also. Is it a loss of form, or not having taken the time to recover properly after the surgery? Or is it something more? Not suited to the way we are playing? Personally, I feel he is at his best playing in teams that have many weak areas, where his 'jack of all trades, master of none' act is likely to paper over both his own & other's shortcomings.
If an offer comes in, it will free up some funds for TM to bring a player or 2 in. Additionally, we have ZZ & Robson who can play in a similiar role. So I'll not be surprised to see him depart.
There may be the odd fringe player that might head out also, such as Mark Brown, Killen, Sheridan & Hutchison etc, but won't grab too many headlines.
Like everyone I'd love to see the re-incarnation of Larsson walk through the door, but the reality is players of that quality are few and far between, and don't come cheap. Fortune cost the better part of £4m, and we have been warned he is hardly the most prolific of forwards. Simply we haven't seen enough of him to judge.
With the way TM has the fullbacks pushing up to support the attack, we need CBs that have good awareness and positional sense, as there will be times when opponants break into a counter attack.
Its CB that require immediate attention, and should be the 1st priority.
Remember, it's a work in progress. I know it's cliche, but Rome wasn't built in a day. It's far more likely there will be more pronounced movement in the summer. These are real people's lives, and its the real world, not some Xbox game. -
Mark brown permanantely: Not Needed
Naylor: Not good enough
Chuckle Brothers: Where to begin??
Flood: Not in moggas plans
Crosas: Same as above,sadly.
McDonald:Lazy and not in moggas plans.
I think next year our team will be something like this:
Boruc
Hinkel
Thompson
A New CB
Fox
McGeady
Brown
N'Guemo
ZZ
Fortune
A New Striker -

I'd go crazy as I feel we have the best chance to change things due to Rangers having a depleted squad & injury problems are already showing for them. Plus they may be forced to sell some good players now that Wattie has really put the for sale sign up & some Championship/lower EPL clubs will have been alerted (WGS, Big *).
So I'd definetely get rid of:
McDonald - fat moaning * who can trap a ball further than most can kick it.
Caldwell - thinks he's a cross between Maldini & Makelele, but is closer to Jim Lauchlan.
McManus - Is a bit more grounded in assessments of his own abilities, but continues to resemble Jim Lauchlan.
Naylor - Been masquerading as a Celtic footballer for longer than is morally acceptable.
Wilson - Injuries have been unkind, but we're better off getting rid as he is not good enough & also takes oxygen from more talented younger players in his position.
Flood - What is his reason?
Mizuno - Failed marketing experiment.
Mark Brown - Not required, was never going to be good enough.
Possibly get rid of:
Samaras - I can't, really can't stand him - but if he plays to form (which he does all to infrequently) he is pretty decent. Sell him when we have sufficient replacements.
Scott Brown - If a double yer money offer comes in I'd be really tempted - otherwise keep him & hope he improves with fitness.
McGeady - Same as Brown.
Maloney - Really having a * season, if a decent bid came in I feel we have sufficient cover to let him go - otherwise teach him to shoot & keep him.
Bring through reserve players who are of similar quality, cut the wage bill & buy in only players who can actually improve the team. -
need to offload some players in January...There is a lot in the squad who are work-horses that fitted into WGS style of play , but dont cut it if we are going to play the passing style TM aims for...
Hopefully we can keep the players who have some ability...
The danger is clubs will only want to take our good players and we'll be left with the crap...
But anyway...
Who I'd like to sell:
Lee Naylor
Mark Wilson
Gary Caldwell
Mizuno
Killen
Who to let go at the right price...
Scott Brown
Scott McDonald
Samaras
Loovens
Maloney
We also have too many left wingers Maloney, McGeady,McCourt,McGinn, Mizuno
I'd like to see menseguez and van wolfswinkle come in
Darren O'Dea re-called and given a chance in defence
