Swindon v Exeter 7.45 tonight, will be interesting to see how Ferry plays. A few people on here have said they would like to see him in our midfield next season. I've personally never seen him play. Apologies if its in the wrong place, but i'm only mentioning it as it's related to Celtic

Ferry is highly rated due to his performances for swindon this season i dont the situation with his present contract with us but he was making noises about staying at swindon full time after his loan spell and i would imagine he will be on the radar of a few bigger championship clubs now as well.
-
He's gotta be worth a chance in pre season
-
how did he play? Have always heard good things about him and charlie grant in cm but both have been unlucky with injuries i'm led to believe?
-
He played well never gives the ball away, always looking to shoot at goal good midfielder better than what is on show at parkhead just now.

I think we need to give players like Ferry a shot next year instead of spending two mill on a player. Look at Ross County, they had 4 Celtic cast-offs or something like that and look how that worked out for us.
-
I always thought he looked pretty good, neat and tidy, when he got the odd sub appearance for us. Must admit that I haven't been following him down there, how was he tonight?
-
Never seen him play but sounds good.:50:

Right at the end of the game, Swindon were pushing up for an equaliser & Exeter broke on a counter.
Swindon had taken of Scott Cuthbert & went to 3 at the back, the Exeter striker was through one on one & rounded the last CB. As he got past the CB, wee Simon Ferry popped out of no-where to knick the ball off his toe & calmly pass it through the midfield...he then toddled off into the midfield area & ended out just outside their area.
He really reminded me more of Paul Lambert than of Lenny, very good reader of the game, good positional sense, good passer, very good engine, likes to sit deep & come forward when he sees an opportunity.
1st time I've seen him for ages, he still looks really young - the Swindon fans love him & he's is contention for their POTY.
Impressed - I know it's only League 1, but Swindon got an injury time equaliser & are now on the same points as Leeds...where did that come from? -

i was there (as an Exeter fan) and i thought he was probably the best player for Swindon. The Swindon fans seem to love him and I have heard he really likes it there. I'd take him back and give him a few games.

id like to see mark millar back at the club, surely he's coming back when willie does ?
-
If the lad is willing to work hard for the team and fight for the shirt then by all means give him a chance.

In fact we loaned Miller out, but UEFA wouldn't allow us to pay Willie's wages & keep him on with us (apparantly), cos of some rule - not allowing 1 club to have a managerial interest in 2 clubs (or something).
I'd love for them both to come back in pre-season & be given a real shot at forming a CM partnership, I'd still like to see Crosas being given a proper chance to.
Punt Broon & don't take up the option on N'Guemo. -

Not seen him play for Swindon but a good few times for the reserves and youth. Cracking wee player and have said before, him and Grant were the two most highly rated players in their age group in the entire country.
Grant got player of the tournament (by other managers) when Scotland reached the u19s Euro final in 2006.
Ferry has always looked comfortable on the ball and great chasing it down. Good one touch passer and could dribble to whenever I saw him. Shame he missed the best part of 3 years down to our misdiagnosis of a broken bone in his ankle. Coulda been a great player for us, but I feel that hes lost too much time in his development to truly be as good as a he would have.
As soon as WGS arrived here he slapped a 4 year contract on the lad, he was only 17-18 at the time, he was that highly rated. -

look at the state of our fans this season when there are youngsters in the team getting stick week in week out ,
peeps need to remember these boys are young and looking for a chance to shine .
over the years to many young prospects have dwindled away because to many fickle fans use them as scapegoats so if we cant produce the youngsters to supporters high standards whats the point in youth systems,
best one is aiden mc geady he has had more chances than most kids who have broken through the ranks in past 10 years,
you think of paul lawson, mark fotheringham, michael mc glinchey,
never really given a chance because our standards as fans is to critise then 5 year down the line say 'what happend to this one and that one '
cant have rapid success and bring through talent at same time. -
I think you are completely off the mark.
anaone of the players who were mentioned there were thought good enough to get into the first team But I don't recall them being given a chance either.
I can't really think of us being overly critical of any young player TBH... so don't know were your coming from there.
