The Phoenix Black Lives Matter
Rodgers has a real hard on for him so I can see this being true.
I mean, would he be better than Nat Philips? Almost certainly. In which case we'd have improved our squad.
But I've never been that sold on McKenna. If he were to partner CCV I'd regard that as a downgrade on the Starfelt-CCV partnership, in which case, our squad would be better for reasons I've stated above, but our starting XI would still be behind last year's.NakamuraTastic likes this. -
No * way, not only is he * he has an attitude problem to boot

To be honest, anything regarding McKenna to Celtic is always something worth taking with a grain of salt.
CB isn't really an area we need to focus on during the January window. We have CCV, Scales, Nawrocki and Lagerbielke, and even if Lagerbielke is leaving, we have Welsh as fourth choice (unless he's out long term)
McKenna would be a big upgrade on Phillips, and is probably better than both Lagerbielke and Nawrocki currently, but unless it's for a cheap fee, I don't see the point. -
Somebody might correct me but in the few games he's played Nawrocki hasn't done a lot wrong

Celtic are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender Scott McKenna. PLZ Soccer understands tentative enquiries have been made as Celtic look to strengthen their options in central defence.
The Scotland defender made the move South from Aberdeen for a reported £3 million in 2020, but has found minutes hard to come by lately with only 5 appearances this season.
Celtic saw their defensive resources stretched further during yesterday’s 2-1 Old Firm derby win when as Stephen Welsh was forced off in the first half, whilst Cameron Carter-Vickers looks set to be ruled out until after the winter break.
Would Scott McKenna be a good addition to Brendan Rodgers squad? -

If we were to get him for cheap as he’s out of contract in the summer I think, and Lagerbielke was to leave then think it would be a decent enough signing. CCV and Welsh both been injury prone this year, leaving us with only Scales and Nawrocki.

woohoo lets go nuts with that £ 70 million

I thought we were heading for a new year, not back in time about 3? next thing you know we'll be after Jack Hendry.

As I said on the non media thread few weeks back everything is agreed with mckenna. Just the nominal fee, if can't get fee agreed we will announce pre contract.

This sounds like Jack Hendry all over again.
We are not needing new center halfs. And if we were.....they would have to better than Scott McKenna -

I suppose there could be something said about having players of experience at the club, to balance the younger ones we usually bring in.
Not a glamorous signing so I imagine plenty of dummies will be spat, bit could be a solid option for us. -

I highly doubt this is true to be honest.
However, it wouldn't be the worst signing in the world, especially as we need to keep our numbers up for the HG Quota in Europe. As a cheap, 4th choice CB? It is what it is.
I don't think he plays here so I'd be surprised if he decided to come here.Blochairnbhoy likes this. -
Would be cheep, experienced, knows the league, played international football
Was Notts Forests player of the year when they got promoted to the prem
certainly not the worst signing
