strachan wanted him, board wouldnt sanction a 4m bid for him,hes now in the 7m bracket, meanwhile huns are goin for 3 in a row when 2 goals was the difference 2 seasons ago!this could be the worst decision by any celtic board ever.we had the chance to bury those inbred wanks and the board did * all:31:

We had our chance and we didn't take it. We've moved on. We are getting a new manager who has won 8 in a row, we shouldn't be thinking about the "what might have beens" of a couple of years ago. Overall though, it was a bad decision in my opinion
-
roughy the same price as fortune and probably double the goals just shows they took strachen for granted a think
-
not prolific enuf, skilful but lightweight , so dont think he would be missed that much.
-
dont think it'll be a bad decison in couple years time ,he had a chance to come didnt ,so we move on and simples we are glasgow celtic surely losing out on fletcher wont deter anything in the future, sour grapes tbh.
-
biggest mistake this summer was not signing him and james mccarthey. they would have been great for celtic. a think fletcher n mcdonald would have also been a prolific partnership. complimenting each other well.
-
Aint the best goal scorer but imo I think he could link up well with McGeady, would have loved to see him here. Scottish aswell :50:
-
Doesnt matter imo

It was a humongous mistake IMO. If we had signed Stephen Fletcher I am sure he would have scored those two crucial goals in the last two 0-0
games against Hibs and Hearts.
We would have had 4IAR and going for 5IAR, and we would still have had Wee Gordon Strachan :55::55::55: -
Whats the point in dwelling on the past its all ifs and buts. Just focus on the future and who were going to sign now.
-
Where Celtic not 7 points ahead at one time after Christmas that season ,Celtic blew the league if im right and with Fletcher priced well over priced i think the board made the right decision on him .

it was a mistake that we are still paying for. At the start of the 4IAR season we had sold more season tickets than any time before. In January one striker would have assured us of the title and therefore most, if not all, season books would have been renewed. We would have guaranteed Champions League income for the next season. Alone we would have guaranteed £15 million outright through maintaining season tickets sales plus champs league. It would also weakened Rangers that i'm convinced we would have won the league last season and therefore got more money from Champions League. Everyone makes a mistake and our board, who try their best for the club, made a mistake that window. It happens and we have to move on and just hope we restore our self to our natural position of 1st next season

We cant do anything about the past but right now we can shape the future, if it's lenny he must get full backing, remember as kennydal said we were 7 points clear when the decision was made, the team were good enough but for what ever reason they capitulated i know it is unpopular to say, but i think the board made the correct decision regarding fletcher it is the players who threw the league awa, as WGS said they weren't up for 4 in a row, what a pity...... ! :shamrock:

-
But remember HE KNOCKED US BACK
-
Although it was a massive mistake, there's nothing we can do now. We need to concentrate on what the board is doing now and in the near future. -
no biggie on fletcher. mr lawwell says those decisions will be on
his gravestone. lets move onwards and upwards. if i had a goal for every
what ifs, and mibeees thru the years with the tic. the golden boot would rest here.
