Celtic midfielder Thomas Gravesen is determined to stay and fight for his place, according to his agent.
The 30-year-old Dane failed to establish himself in Gordon Strachan's first team last season after his £2m move from Real Madrid.
Sunderland and Sheffield United have been linked with a move for the former Everton player.
But John Sivebaek told the Sunday Express: "Thomas wants to prove that he can be a success at Celtic." <!-- E SF -->
Gravesen lost his place to Paul Hartley after the Scotland midfielder signed from Hearts in January and failed to force his way back into Strachan's plans.

Sivebaek said the midfielder had no intention of leaving Celtic Park and was looking forward to next season.
"I think Thomas will still be at Celtic next season. He will fight to get back into the team," Sivebaek said.
"That is the way he wants to act as a professional footballer. I still think he is a really good footballer and I do not know why he has not been playing at Celtic."
Sivebaek added: "Thomas has never expressed a desire to leave Celtic. He is very happy at the club and very happy with the fans."
Strachan said in February he had no problem with Gravesen and that he was part of his first-team plans.

i would give him to christmas at the very most and if he does not improve, he should leave.
-
At first I though 'oh no' but If he could only show his Everton form then I would be happy about that. Problem is I think he is not right in the head. Doubt it will work out and him staying prob means one less much needed signing coming in.

Id say if he stays GS needs to work with him a lot over the summer and get him fit mentally and phisical for next season
-
I cant say am his best fan, but none the less if he is willing to prove to fight for the jersey and not just stay and pick up a packet, then i'd be happy to keep him :)

i fink we need to get rid of him...he is not good enough to get in are midfield and him being on the bench all season is a waste of money. with all these players linked with coming in, it is time to get rid of all the deadwood

He's a better player than Hartley and Jarosik.
But I would prefer to get rid of all tre and sign 2-3 new midfielders. -
I’m happy he is prepared to fight for his place, I’m sure he will have a much improved season this year than he did in his first season.

I really like the idea of him and Brown. I happen to think he gets out of position too much trying to cover for other players inability to shut down the opposition
-
I think it is more a case of him not listening to instructions. He has been hauled off in games for blatantly ignoring tactics.
Strachan made it clear on a number of occasions that he has no trust in Gravesen and I think he should, and will go. -

Graveson has shown glimpes of that form he had but due to an inconsient run in the team he hasnt been able to shine propely IMO and needs atleast 10 games in a run to be judged properly
-
But it is his lack of discipline that is the problem. He cannot follow simple tactical instructions from Strachan, hence the reason he is not a regular starter and Strachan is trying to get shot of him.
Nobody can doubt his enthusiasm, but if he is running about like a loony and not doing what he is told, then he has a problem. -

That why i said ealier that GS needs to work with him to make him good and fit into the team
this is what makes great managers great in that they can make a great player playing bad great again and their buys -
I don't see why Strachan should single him out for special treatment. If he cannot carry out simple instructions and fit into the tactics of the game then he is of no use to us.
He is not a 19 year old who can be sat down and told "this is where you are going wrong" He is an experienced pro and it will be hard to change his habits imo. -

Well whatever about the merits of demirts according to ones view point of Gravesen staying at Celtic I thought that article showed some real quality of character on Gravesen's part.
It seems these days the second any high profile player is out of favour or having bad run you hear them bleating and looking for a move. So to hear him say he is happy and determined to knuckle down and work hard to win back a starting spot is refreshing.
Not to mention if he can recapture his Everton form we will have one heck of a player in the team. -

He has played good matches for HSV (97-00), a lot of good matches for the national team, and some good matches for Madrid when he gets his chances.
But when we talks about Gravesen people shall remember;
* He's hated in Denmark because he don't want to play for the national team. If people remember the CL match in Copenhagen the home crowd sung songs about Kira Eggers is a * etc.
* He's boycotting the media everywhere. And if he shall change club once again the media will go for him a lot.
I'm pretty sure he will prefer to stay in Celtic. He will do anything to secure his private life. He's SO sick of the media. -
