I feel like I never really know what proportion / precentage of our support feel abou8t this issue, which has been rearing its head annually now for the best part of the last decade.
I really couldnt give a * what the animals say about it, or what your average daily mail reader's views are on the subject. But I do want to know how many of our own fans support or disagree with the GB on this issue.

As someone that doesn't wear a poppy I agree with the sentiment of it but I think they could have done a better job of it. To me, it's clear that it's a dig at the poppy being hijacked from the World Wars and now being used for the British Armies illegal war campaigns.
I'm on a mixed forum and the Rangers supporters and some Celtic supporters just see it as all out disrespect against the WW vets as well. I'm not against a World War poppy I am against current wars though. -

Aye I agree with it, they have given their reasons in their statement and couldn't argue with any of it. Peter Lawwell has proven by the Q&A sessions in Ireland that he is a liar.
Anybody who cares about what unbalanced reports the media have to make needs their head checked, they'll give their statements and say whatever they want without acknowledging the statement or the reasons from the Green Brigade and unfortunately there is nobody who will give a fair arguement/debate on the issue of the poppy and why it is opposed therefore anyone who opposes the modern day poppy and its agenda is frowned upon and considered scum. * the Media. -

I think an individuals protest against the poppy should be not to wear one themselves. There really is no need for a group to protest on behalf of an entire support.
It has brought bad publicity on the club. -

No. They haven't.
YOU PERSONALLY may be embarassed because you disagree with it and you have your own reasons for supporting the poppy appeal, but you must recognise that there is a big proportion of the support who fully agree with it. -

how has lawwell lied though, he never once said celtic wouldn't wear it.
he said he'd look into it more, you dont know if he has done or not. your quick to blame him, but celtic not wearing the poppy would be unrealistic for me, as much as i'd want them to not wear it, i dont think it will ever happen.. -

i agree with their politics....i disagree with embroiling celtic into something the club had already dealt with by saying there would be no poppy on our shirt this year.

No I don't agree with them.
They said not on OUR hoops, I'll let them in to a wee secret, it's not just their hoops, the hoops belong to every Celtic fan, regardless of their political opinion.
All they have done is cause division between our own fans, as Paul said if you want to protest against the poppy then simply don't wear one. -

They're entitled to their opinion but it was the wrong place to protest. They've achieved nothing other than dividing the support. A complete embarrassment to Celtic.
I understand that people don't support the appeal and that's fine with me. But that doesn't mean their protests should be shoved in people's faces at the match. I don't think the poppy should be on the tops next week but I still don't think that justifies the protest. The GB should stick to what they do best, bringing atmosphere to the ground. -
i think the problem here is football and politics dont mix we were more or less forced into having a poppy on our shirts wearing a poppy should be personnel choice their is good chance nial mcginn and paddy mccourt will be uncomfortable wearing a poppy considdering their background celtic should have made a donation to the appeal and fans who wanted to wear should have and those who didnot didnt thats their personnel choice rember it is only recently we habe been more or less forced to wear t5hem through media and political preasure as well as rangers jumping on the bandwagon
