Just wondering, things are going quite stale now and Guidetti's not cutting it up front alone lately but we know we're going to play the same way as we've played the same way all season and there's limited options we can change that probably won't even change anything anyway?
It's getting a bit Strachan-esque, where we keep playing the same way game after game, getting a bit boring. One of the best things about Lennon where he constantly changed the formation and tactics even game after game he'd play different ways and they generally worked very well.

4-2-3-1 will never work with our current options regardless of the amount of games its tryed in.

Until we build up a good lead in the league I'd like us to go 2 up top, Guidetti and Scepovic.
-
Yes until we can get the right players in we should play to our strengths which would be a diamond formation...

It's like Mike * Bassett refusing to play anything other than 4-4-2.
-
Yes because we dont have the players to play the system we play.
-
Aye 4231 is *

Depends on who, or if we sign anyone in January.

I think 4-2-3-1 can be a good formation but not for every game. When you are playing Ross County at home there is no need to have 2 holding midfielders. Biton is so negative and Brown could easily contain them himself. Taking Biton off for Scepovic would have gave us an extra edge in the final third.

4-4-2 all the way

3-5-2 at home.
If Lustig can get back, a 3 of him VVD and Denayer would see us through. -

I will never understand why managers try and fit players to a system instead of building a system round the players. It seems so * lazy; 'I have one idea, and if you can't fit into; well, you're *'. A top manager gets a system that gets the best out of the players. Simple. If were Chelsea and had Matic sitting in the middle of the park and a Costa up front then we could play 4-2-3-1, but we are not.
Right now it is all round pegs and square holes stuff. -

We played with two strikers because we wanted more crosses and more players on the pitch that can score goals.
“We have to work in training now every day and really go through what we can do to get that going.
From Ronny's post match comments it looks like he's open to change. However whether it's 1,2 or 3 up front at present our game is based on power, speed, pressing and little guile. The way we play is predictable. The thing about playing teams x4 a year is that the opposition can set up against 'predictability'. Did we beat Barcelona because we were a better team or because we snuffed them out and hit them on the counter? Lenny had worked out how to beat the then best Team around because they were predictable and did the biz.
So if we are going to improve then yes we need, power, speed and pressing but we also need someone with guile because without that then we're always going to be predictable.
