Celtic say they have raised 'a number of concerns' with the SPFL ahead of next week's Scottish Premiership clash against Dundee United.
In the first post-split fixture, the Hoops will have the chance to clinch their fourth-straight league title with a victory at Tannadice.
Anticipation is already building ahead of the game, which will be beamed to TV audiences by Sky Sports, with fans eager to be in situ to watch their heroes officially be crowned champions.
However, supporters have since learned that tickets could cost fans up to an eye-watering £42.
A short club statement reads on Celtic's website: "Following the announcement of ticket arrangements for our forthcoming Scottish Premiership match against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday, April 26, we can confirm that we have raised a number of concerns with the SPFL."
Dundee United's pricing structure can be broken down into £42 and £40 for the upper and lower sections, respectively, of the Jerry Kerr Stand. This is the stand where away fans are usually housed in at Tannadice.
With the Hoops set to clinch their 55th league title, though, United have dished out an extra allocation to Celtic fans who meet concession criteria.
So, fans looking to buy tickets for the Jim McLean Stand will be charged £25 in the upper tiers, and £33 in the lower section.

Dundee utd have been quite cheeky. They've raised prices for everyone but offered Dundee utd fans tickets for a tenner if they get it through a friend with a season book. It allows them to fleece away fans while discounting home tickets in a round about way.
Fans in general get ripped off constantly because they won't take action against it. Clubs will continue to fleece them. -

There’s rare opportunities in Scottish football to make some more money for clubs not us (or Rangers but they’re a bottomless pit for spare change)
They should get what they can. If we as fans think its out of order, or excessive, then we could not buy them. That won’t happen though, they’ll be bought with a slight grumble and moanbigmac7288, Tim-Time 1888, cidermaster and 1 other person like this. -

Send the tickets back with an email saying “sell them yourselves, *”.

celtic aint short of a pound or two they could take the hit for the 30 % increase for their supporters .then they must hammer them for ticket prices next time they visit and refuse to take any the next time we visit there ,there has to be a reaction

I thought there was a ceiling for away ticket prices?
Not as bad as Kilmarnock who would rather play with 3 half empty stands than sell them to Celtic fans on title day but miraculously opened up their stadium when the huns clinched a title there -

I can see why they’re trying to cash in tbh.

I understand them trying to cash in. I would say it they are jacking the prices up then people should just not buy food or drink.

Think clubs should state their away fan ticket price at the start of the season and it should apply for every game.

Didn't know that -

Tell them to * off, if fans go and pay it then shut up about it. No moaning or *.
-
How much were we last time we played them at theirs?
-
Can't very well complain about this now, when season ticket prices seemingly work out to about the same per match for our home games.

Can’t greet about it when people will pay it.

Well, hate to mix different business models but if you try to get Ryanair tickets to any venue we've a European match around that date and you'll see the truly eye watering extent of price gouging... It's a pain in the *, but this is just a good business approach for Utd.
At it's most basic, plenty of fans will pay it, the tickets will move and only a handful will refuse them on principle and have actual reason to complain... This is a valid, but ultimately PR move by the club that'll come to nothing but a general shoulder shrug by 90% of Scottish football who are quite comfortable with us being the sports cash cow...Forestbhoy66 and bigmac7288 like this. -

Dundee Utd I don’t understand the outcry, they’ve done brilliant for their club, they put in a scheme in place discounted tickets for young fans of there’s, £10 for it if bought with an * ticket. Gets youngsters into going and some might just get the bug and continue that, and we make up the shortfall and depending on the uptake of the discounted ones they might make more profit as well. There seats should be packed because of it, and at £42 they know they could price it twice that and we will buy it.
Our fans feel exploited but guaranteed if in the summer we offered pay £42 to guarantee a ticket even being first choice to buy one, for any away game we can win the league it’d be taken up within hours. Even if that was only to guarantee you buying a ticket for it. I think they released they were £2m in debt this season. Fair play to them. It’s best for them.
And considering how we operate? Cheek to even complain. * I know with tickets for it, 5/6 of them, haven’t heard them complain they’re just buzzingPeej likes this. -
