    Re: STALLED!

there's no balls in the boardroom, everyone is afraid to stick there neck out and put it on the line which is understandable to a point but sooner or later the board is gonna have to start taking risks. They seem to be penny pinching * too, willing to cut corners all the time, you can't manage a football club in "safe mode" for ever.

I think they'd get more respect of the fans if they took a gamble and showed some ambition.

    Re: STALLED!

Sky Sports have a diffrent story to Celtic, The BBC, Evenning Times they have the agent saying talks didn't go well wereas everywhere else has quoted him as saying the discussions were positive and Zurawski said he will return to CP and decide to join within 7 days

    Re: STALLED!

there is a lot of speculation going around, but the fact is that Zurawski will become a Celtic because

    1) Zurawski wants to play for Celtic
    2) HE WILL LEAVE WISLA THIS SUMMER
    3) If Celtic pay the 3 MIL Euro to Wisla

and therefore unless Celtic want to start bargaining with Wisla ( which i hope they dont do) Zurawski will be a celtic player in a week or so

    Re: STALLED!

    Whats the big fuss?

There was talks for 2 days and no result. I think this shows that it is the PLAYER who is unsure of signing and nothing to do with the board. They have stated they have already agreed the £2.2m with the Polish clib, before today's papers said they hadn't. The player is not good enough to demand more than what I think Celtic will offer him. If he wants to play for Celtic, as HE says then he will. If he doesn't then thats that.

I also think that this signing could close any doubts of Bellamy's club next season. He will be gone if we sign this Polish guy. (IMO)

    Re: STALLED!

i think he will be a celtic player very soon plus he says we have to wait up to a week and we have heard a lot about not unveiling new players until the new strip is out so maybe it has something to do with that.
We have agreed a fee so maybe he is away home to talk to his family about what they think.

    Re: STALLED!

money is not the problem for Zurawski, unless Celtic were offering him ridiculously low wages.... did you think about length of contract? also, contrary to popular belief, a fee has NOT BEEN AGREED by the clubs, they may be close to agreeing, but nothing is finalized yet

    Re: Zurawski coming to Glasgow

Your message has been quoted (translated) in the biggest Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza (the other ones come from Stoogie_02 and Celtic Mad)

"Na pewno nie zażąda kosmicznych pensji jak gwiazdki, które przyjeżdżają do nas z ligi angielskiej. Już nie mogę się doczekać, jak dołączą do niego jego polscy koledzy - napisała Celtic Babe ze strony TalkCeltic.net. - Dokładnie. Mam nadzieję, że wznowimy rozmowy z Arturem Borucem, którego chciał do nas ściągnąć jeszcze Martin O'Neill - uważa Stoogie_02 z Glasgow. -Zdecydowanie powinniśmy wysłać do Polski naszych skautów. Entuzjazm wywołał podany wcześniej przez jednego z kibiców link internetowy, dzięki któremu można obejrzeć bramki strzelone przez Żurawskiego. - Rety, jakie bramy. Jego transfer będzie fantastycznym posunięciem - zachwyca się Celtic Mad."

At the beginnig I'd like to say hello! to all Celtic fans :D We've got a lot i common, as I also don't like Rangers :D. Once more, HI!

Polish media say that Zurawski is almost Celtic player. He came back to Krakow just to consult some things with his wife and he's going to Glasgow in a days.
According to "Przeglad Sportowy" Zurawski has already accepted contract offer from Celtic. It is about 6mln euro on 4 years. At the same time "Gazeta Wyborcza" states that Celtic offered 2,8 mln Euro for Maciej, however, Wisla wants little above 3 mln. "GW" underlines that both sides should meet on 3 mln euro.
Polish media are full of optimism. Zurawski is best player playing in Polish league and his transfer to Celtic seems much more accurate for him than to Trabznospor, Austria or FC Koeln.

(Sorry for mistakes, I've probably made :) )

    Re: Zurawski coming to Glasgow

Thanks for that Grzeslaw, very interesting to get a polish perspective on the situation. On that note, how big a story is this in Poland? I'm always interested in what kind of image has around the world - do most polish football fans see Celtic as the most glamourous move from the choices on offer? And do Celtic get a lot of exposure in your media generally?

And do you expect many fans to continue to take a keen interest in Zuraw's career if he joins Celtic? I hope so, as there is always room for more fans in the Celtic family, especially one's who hate rangers! :86:

    Re: Zurawski coming to Glasgow

Celtic is believed to be the most suitable club for Zurawski. Fans as well as media reveal enjoyment with perspective of this move. Everyone is impressed with this famous club. Its stadium, its fans, phenomenal doping. Unfourtunatelly, I've never had a chance to be in Glasgow and visit Celtic Park, but we can watch in Poland some of your games in TV (Celtic-Rangers, Champions League).

Zuraw is the most popular Polish player. Well...maybe Dudek and Krzynowek (Leverkusen) are more popular than him. He has huge amount of keen admirers, fans, that will follow his every step in Celtic :86: I'm more than certain, that many people will begin to look on Celtic and wish succesess :p

P.S. I've always prefered Celtic to Rangers :D. It is not only about sport :), but also sth more. Celtic are mainly catolics while Rangers are protestants, right?

Correct! Some fans call our team The Pope's Eleven. A wee bit daft but the rangers fans are notorious for singing anti-Catholic songs and we hate them.
