We can't afford Bellamy, and Zurawski was seen to be the cheaper option, but now it looks like we can't afford him at around a third of Bellamy's value.
    We were promised 15M.
All we've got so far is a mass clearout, 1 Bossman and 1 loan deal.
    What is going on???

i hope we get both strikers Bellers and Zurawski, but Zurawski has played in the polish league is that a good league??? Look at Brattback he scored loads in Norway then came here and was a dissappiontment in the amount of goals he scored(i was gonna say flop but he scored some important goals 1997 champ winnin goal)

It is ironic that on the day a £32m bid for a player of a team we beat in the Uefa Cup in 2003 was rejected, we can't pay £2.2m for Zurawski in one or even two installments.

Yep, we're making a laughing stock of ourselves.
I thought DD was underwritting the 15M, or was this before he suggested Celtic fans pay double for their season tickets???
Can't believe how long the Bellamy/Zurawski sagas have dragged on.
From being front runners in both, we are now in real danger of losing both of them.
Perhaps we'll resign Henri Camara on deadline day!!![IMG]

Zurawski said today that if the situation will not be resolved by the end of this week is going to Wisla's summer camp in Austria, because he can't loose more training. I don't understand Celtic's board. For us it seemed that the guys from Trabzo were amateurs at sitting to do a deal, but it seems like Celtic is sending us people who instead of deciding matters have to call someone the whole time to make any decissions whatsoever. I do not understand how such a big and renouned club can function this way.
I really feel bad for Zuraw who really wants to play for the Bhoys. He turned down a contract which would pay him 250K a year more and his whole sallary would be taxed at a much lower rate meaning in Turkey he would in effect make really a * load more money than at Celtic - yet he wanted to go to Glasgow anyway. If your Board does not want him I hope he either stays with us or goes to Fiorentina. If he goes to Austria (to the summer camp with Wisla) chances of him staying in Krakow will increase.

    Hey

    I have another bad news.

Gazeta Krakowska which is Cracow major newspaper released today new note about Zuraw.

”He will be on the plane today for Fiorentina to discuss his contract.”.

They also said that he will not tolerate Celtic dropping price for Wisla to 2.5 mil and not like they agreed before 3 mil

And I have another news: Beskitaz bought someone else so they dont want Maciek anymore. Nobody knows what hapenned on monday. Wisla says that Celtic wanted pay only 2,5 mln euro and Celtic says that Wisla wanted 3,3mln eur. It looks like a huge disagreement. Maciek is prepared to stay in Wisla. :fear:

Daily Records - is this serious newspaper? They wrote there that Zuraw is only rezerve option in case of not buying Bellamy. I have no words to describe it, if Zuraw stays in Wisla.... no I wont survive it :54:

I told you - they are desperate to get Bellamy in the first place. Zurawski was just a tool to pressure Bellers to take appropriate decision. And Bellers doesn't give a f*** about Celtic [IMG]. Pathetic comedians from Celtic board think they are smart - hopefully their wisdom won't show in Celtic's result this season. Anyway lucky those who will finally ground Zuraw be that Fiorentina or whoever.

We live with this all the time, Maline, though it doesn't make it any easier for us. The Herald says that Celtic have submitted a compromise proposal.

'Celtic, meanwhile, have submitted a compromise proposal to Wisla Krakow which they hope will finally seal the transfer of Zurawski.
Lawwell travelled to Poland on Monday to resolve the saga but was informed bluntly of the payment terms demanded by Wisla. It is understood Celtic have now responded with an amended package which covers the transfer fee instalments to Wisla as well as personal terms for the 28-year-old and monies due to agents.'

If Celtic doesn't buy Zuraw I hope Wisla will meet the Bhoys in CL 3rd qualification round. I suppose Zuraw' gonna wan't to have his own little vengeance:)) This would be a nice match:86:

Right guys, ive got the inside track.
I spoke to Lawell on the Underground this morning.

Apparantly, the deal will go though now.
The delay was that one of the clerks in the accounts office at Celtic Park had prepared him a wee spreadsheet showing how much £3M euro was in Pounds sterling.
He was just waiting on a favourable shift in the GBP/Euro exchange rate.

Now it all makes sense. He's quite chuffed now that he's saved us 250 quid...

Celtic target Maciej Zurawski has admitted he is becoming "irritated" by the delay in his move to Glasgow.

Fiorentina are believed to have joined the chase for the Wisla Krakow striker but the 27-year-old has set his heart on a move to Scotland after agreeing terms with the club. But Celtic, who have been given an end-of-week deadline by the Polish club to agree a fee, are continuing to hold out on the £2million frontman which is frustrating him.

Zurawski said: "I am becoming very irritated because I would like to train with Celtic but I am stuck in Poland training on my own.

"I have agreed with Celtic but everything is in the hands of the clubs."

Willie McStay, meanwhile, is to head up Celtic's youth set-up alongside Tommy Burns.

Burns, who will retain the title of head of youth, has revealed that long-serving youth-team coach McStay has been asked to step up to fill the void created by his own fresh coaching responsibilities with the senior side.

Celtic have been anxious to ensure that four years of sustained and, in some respects, spectacular progress at youth level is allowed to continue undisrupted and, in McStay, Burns is convinced that the club have identified the perfect candidate to ensure the set-up evolves and improves further.

He explained: "I've been asked to continue in my work with the youth system, which I'm happy to do, but the new role obviously limits the time I can spend working on that side of things.

"Fortunately, we have within the academy some really excellent people and, in Willie McStay, one outstanding individual who has served the club superbly over the past 10 or so years.

"What's going to happen now is that Willie is going to take on a lot more responsibilities and have a broader remit to oversee the set-up alongside myself.

"I know he's chuffed about that and it's an opportunity he's thoroughly deserved because he's done an exceptional job in coaching our young players."
