Have to agree with dilutism. I also had many possibilities to watch those guys (Bellamy and Zurawski), so I feel authorised to express my personal opinion. Compering to Zurawski Bellamy is just like a headless rider (no offence intended). And yes - Bellamy is a very good player, but Zurawski as a striker is simply better. If somebody could convience Bellamy to play as a winger he could be a class act.

 

Perhaps Celtic are waiting for their new strip, launched on friday before parading any new signings. Stranger things have happened in football, perhaps Nike are putting pressure on Celtic to hold off so that new signings will wear the new top. Just a thought, as many stories say that Celtic are far down the line with negotiations with a few players.

( STRIKE ace Maciej Zurawski appeared on TV in Poland last night and claimed he had opted to join Celtic.

He seemed to have followed the advice of Wisla Krakow president Janusz Basalaj who urged his star asset to choose Parkhead and not Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Basalaj said: 'I spoke with Maciej on Monday and he said, 'Boss, I'm still thinking'.

'My feeling is he still wants to go to Celtic.

'Trabzonspor have spoken with him but if it was my choice, I would sign for Celtic. The prospect of playing in Britain is an exciting one for

Zurawski. Wisla would gladly sell Maciej to a club such as Celtic.'

Parkhead chief executive Peter Lawwell is confident a deal will be struck.

Pre-season training begins on Friday and so far Celtic have signed former Burnley defender Mo Camara on a Bosman.

Manager Gordon Strachan has lost six players to other clubs over summer and last season's depleted squad, which Martin O'Neill said needed six new faces, is now much worse off.

Talks continue with Arsenal about French striker Jeremie Aliadiere, who's wanted on loan by Celtic.

And Southampton boss Harry Redknapp has invited Strachan to make a £700,000 bid for Norwegian defender Claus Lundekvam, who is now surplus to requirements at the relegated St Mary's club ) Hail Hail

Got to agree Murph, our centre-backs are bombscares,
as is Hedman. Unless GS can whip Bobo and StanV into
shape quick smart, they're a worry. And the mythical
creative mid-fielder is still ... well..a myth.

I have just read that Celtic didnt make a new offer to Wisla and the last Thursday offer Wisla doesnt accept. Żuraw is still in Poland. Yesterday clubs didnt negotiate. Maybe Celtic doesnt want Żuraw ?

Still no sign of Zuraw in Glasgow, but Aliadiere arrives today...worrying times, why can't someone just come out and explain the Zurawski situation??????

 

Ah, it's a text from "Przeglad Sportowy"... wouldn't worry about their publications too much. Zuraw is propably flying in tomorrow, as to what I've read he has his last training with Wisla scheduled tonight.

 

Maybe you are right diltuism, maybe there is nothing to worry about but I am still worried . I only know that I would be extremely happy if this case will finally over.

Notice all yesterday changes in Wisla: Basalaj - president resigned (or was forced to resign), Liczka - coach sacked, also there are rumors that Praski has resigned. I don't know who exactly was in charge of this transfer but I wouldn't be very surprised if there's no one familiar with details of this transfer in Wisla wright now.

 

Why don't you tell our new friends from Celtic about enemys of Lechia?

 

There is also another option... I think it's not as crazy as it may sound, but what if Zurawski had already signed the contract when he was in Glasgow recently? maybe he was asked to keep it low until Friday and the Nike event?
Even if so, I guess we'll never know.

How do yeh pronounce Zurawski's first name? I know how tae pronounce Zurawski but Maciej I don't. Don't wory aboot my ability tae pronounce polish names, cause I'm romanian and our languages are rather close.
