Not enthused by this one we need a center back not another midfielder. Loans are bad business unless it's a massive name

I do agree we need a centre back but i also believe we are lacking a creative midfielder that can play in behind the strikers with a bit of pace and skill. I know we have paddy but he is not a ninety minute man and he's more of a wide man.

    I'm not picky.
The thing is, where would he slot in when Commons/Forrest and Samaras are playing? Are we looking at him only as a back-up kind of player for the loan term or what? It would seem a bit hard on the likes of Commons, who is starting to get back to the form he was in when we first signed him, if he got dropped just so this lad could play.

Also, we have Paddy as well, which I know isn't a 90 minute a match guy, but if this lad even got games ahead of McCourt, that wouldn't really be fair either. Meaning McCourt could possibly be on the way out at some point?

Just wish that we could do something with the central defence part though and I know I'll be pretty upset if we don't get a good, experienced defender in.

I don't see any direct quotes anywhere? And we all know that Lennon has no time for the MSM in Scotland. Which you have said yourself.

    http://gulfnews.com/sport/football/japan-s-otsu-moving-to-celtic-report-1.1065366

Says we have MADE A BID. I would trust any news from Japan over anything the scottish MSM say.

You seem to go out your way to pick on my posts, and try your best to prove a point?

Celtic are attempting to sign Otsu.

Lennon said he is interested in the player but probably won't make a move this window. it's on the BBC website.

with Lennon's transfer activities in the past, it could be a bluff. i'm not willing to rule out a move. as i've said he looks like a good option if we want to change formation which could be vital in Europe. yea loan with option to buy please.

He did look as if he had something up his sleeve in the interview. :56:Hope it's still on. Otsu and Yoshida would be great additions.

I'm going to trust Lennon over your Japanese mate, no offence. We have not made a bid. Lennon has flat-out denied it. We are 'keeping tabs on him but will probably not do anything this window.'

No offence, but we aint talking about my Japanese mate. We are talking about a Japanese media outlet that does not do speculation.

Celtic HAVE made a bid for this player. This media source for the information from someone CLOSE to the player. Most likely his Adviser.

Lennon has denied it before while still doing it, which then tells me not to fully believe what he says. The Japanese Media that has been quoted do not deal in RUMORS they deal in FACTS.

In the past he has been vague, he has used phrases like 'just speculation at the minute.' He has never denied making a bid, quite clearly stated that we will not be pursuing him this window and then bought a player.

We have not made a bid. :50::50:

Ah. I see. Well, can he get it if he is capped enough for the U-21 team?

to get a work permit they have to had play a certain percentage of games for their senior national team in the last two years if they don't hold an EU passport.

if they don't meet the criteria we would only make a move for the player if we were confident a permit would be granted on appeal.

we did this for Mizuno citing the success of Nakamura as a reason. as Mizuno flopped, i don't know if the panel would grant another on that basis any more.
