Aye I think they would get a decent audience. They must film them for their own training purposes.

Wish celtic would play the games at parkhead and get it free on the season book like they used to.
then again those games were weekends mostly. These games are always midweek now

Deila has taken a strong interest in the lower levels since day one, wouldn't read too much into immediate first team impact/opportunities.

I think it's a requirement for a grade 1 youth set up. I know Middlesbrough do it for all age groups and they are a grade 1.

When I first got my ST there were like 10-15 tickets for reserve games. Sometimes played when celtic were away.
Would be good for the young lads to play at celtic park too

Ahh * am sure I saw a photo Celtic had after the game he was in it. Still he's 18, would manage 2 games in a few games.

Celtic Academy coach Tommy McIntyre spoke to @CelticTV ahead of tomorrow's @UEFAYouthLeague game v @hjkhelsinki

The Celts go into the first round, second-leg qualifier 5-0 up and McIntyre said: "We’re feeling positive and focused on the game."

TM: We know it’ll be a tough game as it was the same over there but it’s one we’re really looking forward to.

TM: I thought we were excellent over there but take nothing away from @hjkhelsinki

TM: They gave us a few problems and it’s something we need to guard against.

TM: I know 5-0 can be a big reflection on the game but in terms of possession, @hjkhelsinki are a good side.

TM: Tournaments like @UEFAYouthLeague are great for the boys to get away from the domestic side of football.

TM: At a club like #Celtic you need to prepare for the big stages and this is a good stepping stone for young players.

CELTIC are delighted to announced that Aidan Nesbitt has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal, which will see him remain at the club until at least 2019.
The 18-year-old, who recently made his first-team debut when he came on as a substitute in the League Cup victory over Raith Rovers, is one of a number of promising and highly-rated players coming through the Celtic Youth Academy.
And he’s delighted to have committed his future to the team he supports.
“It’s a great feeling,” he told the official Celtic website. “This takes me to 2019, so it gives me plenty of time to keep developing and getting better, and hopefully becoming a good first-team player here.
“Since I joined at the age of eight, I’ve learned so much about football and so much about myself, and hopefully I’m here for another 10 years learning more along the way.
“The manager has been telling that if I keep progressing the way I’ve been going, where I’ll be and where I’ve got the potential to get to as long as I keep working hard, and that’s what I’m going to do, to hopefully fulfil that potential.”
Nesbitt, who has been in impressive form for the Development Squad as they’ve started the new season strongly, replaced Nadir Ciftci late in the game against Raith Rovers, which the Hoops won 2-0. And the attacker is hoping that it’s only the first of many appearances for the first-team in the years ahead.
“I was delighted and it might only have been five minutes but it’s something that I’ve been working towards my whole life,” he said, “so it was absolutely incredible for me and I hope I can get as many minutes and games as I can and I’m just developing myself every day to do that.”
Nesbitt’s friend and Development Squad team-mate, Kieran Tierney, has also made the breakthrough into the first-team this year, making his debut towards the end of last season.
The two players have known each other since they first joined the Youth Academy, and Nesbitt revealed that Tierney was the first person he told about his new deal.
“He’s as pleased as me,” Nesbitt said. “Both of us have been here since we were eight and we’re both hoping to be here for a long time in the future.
“The Development Squad is doing well this season, both in the league and the UEFA Youth League. Not only are we winning but we’re playing really well, we’re scoring goals and we’re not conceding so we’re doing everything right at the minute.
“I’ve scored quite a few and will hopefully score a few more but I’m pleased with the way things have been going.”
And after signing his new contract, Nesbitt got on the team bus to head to the Tony Macaroni Stadium, Livingston, for Celtic’s UEFA Youth League second leg against HJK Helsinki.
The Hoops hold a 5-0 lead from the first-leg, with Nesbitt the hat-trick hero on the night.
“I wouldn’t mind another hat-trick tonight,” he said, “but as long as we can get a win and go through that’s the main thing.”
Tonight’s match between Celtic and HJK Helsinki at Livingston’s Tony Macaroni Arena kicks off at 7pm and there are tickets available from the Celtic Park ticket office, Argyle Street and Superstore outlets, priced at £4 for adults and £1 for under-16s.
