REGAN Hendry may have bagged his first hat-trick for the Development Side today in their derby demolition of Rangers - but he insisted the impressive team performance was more satisfying than his milestone moment.

The attacking midfielder opened the scoring with well-executed volley in the seventh minute and, following an own goal from Rangers defender Kyle Bradley, he made it 3-0 before the break with another neat finish.

And the 19-year-old completed the scoring for Tommy McIntyre’s side early in the second half from the penalty spot after Calvin Miller had been fouled in the box by Robby McCrorie.

It was Hendry’s first treble in the Hoops since the final of the U17 Denis Law Soccer Tournament in Aberdeen three years ago.

But he was keen to highlight the collective showing of the young Celts as they stylishly returned to winning ways in the league following Tuesday’s defeat to Hibernian.

Speaking exclusively to the official website, he said: “The biggest positive today was the team performance as we haven’t played like that in a long time and after losing in the previous game to Hibs, it was great to bounce back with a good victory.

“On a personal note, it was nice to get a few goals. I haven't scored a hat-trick since I was playing for the U17s in the Denis Law Soccer Tournament in Aberdeen, when I scored three in the final.

“I need to add more goals and assists to my game so hopefully I can kick on from here. Before the game, I always practice a few volleys as I think it’s one of my better finishing traits.

"When the ball came down like that I knew it was going to hit the back of the net and the second goal was on the volley as well.

“But, again, the team performance itself was the most pleasing thing out there. The first half was better than the second half but the fact that we went back out after the break and kept a clean sheet plus got another goal speaks volumes.

“This month has been really busy for us,” added Hendry. “We are just trying to get as many points as we can in the league and we have the Youth Cup final to look forward to as well. We are keeping our feet on the ground and not getting too ahead of ourselves.”

Celtic still have a chance of retaining the title.
If they win their remaining 4 matches they will have 67pts.
They have just 1 match against a top 4 team.
Ross county are on 62pts and have 3 matches left but 2 of those are against 2nd and 3rd place teams.
    We can still do it

I saw the huns twitter refer to it as a "controversial decision" and I thought well they would say that.

They were right to be fair:giggle1:

Controversial indeed, the keeper should have been sent off.

I think we could well beat the huns first squad with this development team + the home grown players of our first team.
