    Would Buy :

    Ramis from Mallorca
    Lee Wallace
Stan Petrov may come back its just whether we can afford him now
Jim Obrien has been promising for Motherwell and would be good squad player
    Anthony Stokes
Push the boat out for James Mcfadden !!!

    Sell:

    Loovens
    Brown
    Mcgeady
    Fortune
    Samaras

    Team would be:

    -----------Boruc---------

    Hinkel--Ramis--Hooiveld--Wallace

    -----------Petrov---------------

    Maloney-------------Mcfadden
    --------McCourt-------------
    ----Stokes----Rasmussen

I Think this is realistic and adds players who know what celtic is about, have experience of the SPL but with a good spine and a touch of class !

Its a bit of randomness really without a transfer budget.

If yous could get McFadden (which is a popular vote but i very much doubt you would get) superb. So Maloney or McGeady would be sold. (which would make the transfer)

    If moneys available then,

Personally with all the transfer talk (if possible) i would go for Morten Gamst Pederson. Very unsettled player with a lot of quality. Centre mid Stephen Ireland.
Keane goes so . . . . up front you are looking at a quality striker . . . not easy. Perhaps Steven Fletcher with Burnley in the shyte.

Defence, well i like Dawson at Spurs but perhaps no chance o that. Push the coins for Villas Richard Dunne!

    Its all money though

Zander Diamond is just waiting for the call but we dont want him to go and you probably dont rate him that highly

What's fat Ronaldo upto these days? last i knew he was playing in Brazil. He might not be half as fast as he used to be but im sure he'd run amok in the SPL. Probably still could command a hefty wage though!

I see a lot of people putting James McFadden down as a player they want. I don't get this. McFadden is exactly the type of player we DON'T need just now. He's another one of these guys who is either a hit or a miss. One week he'll do something sublime then the next week he'll be anonymous. We already have Maloney and McGeady to play the role of the inconsistent flair player for us. :87:

What we need just now is 2 or 3 players in the Steven Davis mould. Players that have all round ability, a good attitude and most of all are CONSISTENT. I'd take a guy like Davis over a McFadden anyday.

Agree, McFadden blows hot and cold in different matches, Steven Davis would be a great signing imo

Mcfaddens hot and cold playing for an average team in the most competitive league in the world IMO. Bring him to scotland and that may turn to hot every week. And Mcfadden will run around and fight for the team if he isnt performing and wouldnt hide like mcgeady has done over a lot of games this season.

I like the suggestion of steven ireland but he would go to another english club before he came to us.

Would agree with everything you've said here mate. The supporters are split on selling McGeady and Brown but personally I dont think they are good enough and inconsistant, would be interested to see who you'd sign though.

Would love to see the board dig deep into their pockets and help the team while we are in this crisis. They have been beating about the bush for years with the biscuit tin mentality and look where thats got us, so if I was the man in the hot seat this is what i would do.

    Out

    Braffheid
    Wilson (1M)
    Loovens (£1M)
    Zhi (release)
Brown (£4M) An EPL club will be stupid enough to pay this or more!
    McGeady (£8M) " "
    O'Dea (£1M)
    Sheridan (£500k)

    In

N'Guemo (nantes) (£1M) Arsene seen something in him, think he has potential if he stopped getting caught in possesion.
    Goodwillie (Dundee Utd) (£1M tops??)
    Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal) (£2/3M)
Layton Baines (Everton) (£4M) might be out of our price range though
    Bellamy (Man City) (£5M)
    Dorrans (West Brom) (£2M)
    Van Buyten (Bayern Munich) (£2M)
    M G Pederson (Blackburn) free
    Bullard (Hull City) (£??)
    Danny Murphy (Fulham) (£1-2M)

    Boruc
    Hinkel Hooiveld Van Buyten Gibbs/Baines
    Pederson/Fortune N'Guemo Bullard Dorrans/Pederson
    Bellamy Rasmussen

Balance of £20 million with the board forking out only around £2 million.

Dorrans for 2mill :56:. Get real! And nae chance of getting Gibbs from Arsenal or Van Buyten (signed a new contract at Bayern in Feb). Bellamy for 5mill? right, enough jokes, this is turnin into fantasy football.

Realistically, i would take Jason Roberts from Blackburn up front, Ritchie De Laet on loan from man u for left back and Engelaar for Centre mid. Even a long shot for Khalid Boulahrouz from Stuttgart. Lookin at

    -------------------Boruc-----------------------
    Hinkel---Boulahrouz-----Hooiveld----------De Laet
    ---------------Ki------Engelaar------------------
    Maloney----------------------------McGeady----
    -------------Roberts----Rasmussen--------------

Reading through this thread it is easy to see why so many people on here hate the board so much. Some people's expectations of the players we can get and the money we can spend are just so unrealistic it's not even worth debating.

Some serious reality checks need to be taken here.

I'd like to see a continental 4-2-3-1 which is all the rage these days.

I'd also like us to nip the left-back problem in the bud by lowering our requirement - we don't NEED a swashbuckling attacker like a left-footed Maicon. What we need it steady consistency on that side, main attributes being a good engine and SOUND DEFENSIVELY!

Let's say for arguments sake that O'Dea was that man:

Think of Inter for anyone who watched last night. For a truely defensive display even get Brown in for Crosas, those 2 can sit in front of the defence and hack, * out of every *!

Attack with a 4, arguably Brown in for Ki, and can swap to 4-4-2 with Ras coming in for a midfielder when really chasing something.

This thread is a bit mental. About 80% of the players, if not more, would never come to Celtic.

Im just guessing a price, not sure myself.
I think we could get Bellamy for £5 mill, hes fell out with Mancini and pushing on a bit. We all thought Keane coming to us was 'when pigs fly' material.

And you would keep McGreedy? Hes a 1 trick pony, whos progressed as much as he can at Celtic.

The thing with Bellamy is he is still a massive player for Man City and expensive wages - wise. I bet he's on something similar to what Keane gets now and that level of wagery is unsustainable for us long-term. At least with Keane there was no transfer fee, Bellers will be far FAR too expensive and can expect to be on 65k/week for a good 5 years yet at one Prem team or another..

    Hinkel Kenneth Mcmanus Dixon

    Brown N'guemo Garvan

    Maloney

    Rasmussen Stokes

that be who id like in team after selling mcgeady would have plenty to get in stokes, garvan, kenneth, dixon
