Was sorry to read about your dad but glad to hear he's recovering. If it gets you out walking with him it's a positive outcome, is it not?

well...I only really walk to the shops, I've been kind of housebound for as long as I can remember. Its not fear of anything, I walk with my head high, Its just something that is internalised. I used to love going out and playing football, was always an outdoors person but i figured everytime I went out I would have nowhere to go, usually sit on a bench somewhere.
But outside is where bad things can happen, outside is where I got accused of being a rapist by a crackhead who I was trying to let past me. Theres alot of collective anger out there and I dont trust everyone to keep it to themselves kind of thing

Sorry to hear you struggle like that and only hope being out a little with your dad makes it easier through acclimatisation. Best of luck.

Going out at first light is really good. Of course this time of year you get the dawn chorus and mammals are very alert . The big bonus is there is hardly any humans around and Mother Nature really does give you a hug.
You also figure out the the quietest routes and places. Walking is so good for all our mental health. I hope you manage to get out more because Mother Nature is such a great healer, without her I would be beyond a mess.

Yesterday I did a 2 bus visit to one of favourite valleys located in Snowdonia. A fine walk lasting from 8.30am to 2.20pm. Lovely weather. I got my first Cuckoos of the years, hearing 3 getting a cool brief view of one.
I also got my first Common Sandpiper of the year and my first Spotted Flycatcher and Wood Warbler of the year. Also 4 Red Kite were seen , and good numbers of Redstart, Pied Flycatchers and Garden Warblers were noted.
7 species of Butterfly were seen and healthy numbers of ever so handsome and graceful Large Red Damselflies. At the end of the walk at a section of a lovely clear stream I could see Brown trout below the surface and a brilliant view of a passing Beautiful Demoiselle Damselfly , they are not called beautiful for nothing. The beautiful blue colours as striking as a Kingfisher!! That sighting stole today’s show , also here my first Dragonfly of the year a Broad Bodied Chaser.
What an outing. I also met a number of fantastic dogs and their owners. That deserves a separate report which I will do later.

I'll second that Pete, also B.A. you'll find you'll meet the nicest friendliest people when out walking, maybe there's a park or a forest or a beach near where you live where you could spend an hour, don't let the * in life drag you down, there are more good decent folk out there than you might think.:50:

For some reason imgur doesn't seem to be working for posting images. I'm sure it did previously. Any suggestions?

Have to admit the last few days I have been worried something happened to our resident Robin mom. I hadn't seen her for almost a week but this morning there she was sitting on the tree right next to the nest she built so I am thinking she may be about to lay her eggs in the next day or so.
