Yesterday late morning I was delighted to see the local pair of Peregrines showing very well displaying over my housing estate. They came quite low and totally mastered the air especially as they gained height. Put on a show for several minutes.

This was at the end of a fine walk with battling Ruby Roo :49:

Out on my local patch this morning with my partner in crime Ruby Roo I was totally delighted to get prolonged views of a patrolling and briefly displaying male Goshawk.

A few from a couple of visits out to Portavade, There are a few pics of various Great northern Divers, they're quite common out in the estuary and aren't shy of coming pretty close to the shoreline.

A couple of years ago, we went to Saltcoats for the day. We saw a couple of Black Guillemots sitting in the water. Moments late they started to fly directly towards us. Then they flew downwards into a nest they'd built in the sea wall. It was about three feet below where we were standing. Caroline leant over to see if she could gat a picture. I even held her legs in case she fell in. No luck with the picture but a superb spot. Made the day.

I took a visit out to Streamstown last week, i got set up just as the tide was turning to go out, there was huge flocks of birds there waiting until the tide was low enough for them to feed, there was Godwits, Dunlin, Shelduck, Long tailed Duck, Brent Geese, Oystercatchers, Curlews, Redshank and (i think) Knott, usual complaint is they were a bit far away to get a decent close up shot but i think there's a way of getting a wee bit closer without spooking them, just have to wait for a dry morning when the tide suits :50:

A few from a quiet loch Colgagh last week, the three hybrid Geese appear for a while and disappear again sometimes for a year or so, Pete and John might recognise the mix of breeds in them. :50:
