Early this morning 25 Redwing passed over my house and 10 Fieldfare woke up in the nearby farmland and off they went with their chuckling flight.

A few from Colgagh last week, I managed to get some shots of the Otter pair as they were fishing a bit nearer to where i was perched, also got a few shots of a large flock of Greenfinches who were feeding in the reedbeds close by.

    You'll Never Walk Alone
I’ve had a rather disturbing couple of days with wildlife sightings.

Yesterday at around 6.30am in the dark I hit something in the road. An almighty thud on underside of car, it really was pitch black and even with lights on I didn’t see the object till I was right on it. Drove on and thought all was ok.

Turned out it was an already dead deer and it ripped the skid pan off the underside of the engine!

Then this morning when, bizarrely, an old neighbour of mine was driving ahead of me as we headed from the glen towards civilisation.

A neighbouring properties rag doll cat was at the side of the road and we both slowed to a crawl. All good and everyone safe and sound. He then turned onto the main road and proceeded to squish a grey squirrel that was bouncing across the road!

It was clear as day seeing this wee thing pop out the hedge in front of us! Idiot!

After the care taken to slow for the cat and then skelping Tufty without even noticing!

    Just bizarre.

I hope my next wildlife encounters are more peaceful, fluffy and cute!

Some more from Colgagh in the midweek, there wasn't a lot around but the action from the squabbling Swans made up for it, even though they didn't stop off, it's nice to see the Whoopers back for the Winter.

Due to the thick fog that's been hanging around for the week I didn't manage to get out as much as i'd have like to but managed an hour at Colgagh, I took the camera with me when i went out to Hazelwood yesterday evening for my daily walk and took a few pics of the stunning colours of the canopy and the thick carpet of fallen leaves.
