That sounds like a sensational day Johnie. Can't wait to see the pics.
And , one more thing Johnie.... over 500 pics isn't "a few". :giggle1::giggle1::giggle1:

:56:, Your right there John, i just couldn't help it, anything that moved was getting photographed multiple times, we went round the site twice and i was still snapping like a loony the second time around :giggle1: , it might take a long time to go through them and cull the fuzzy ones and tidy up any half decent ones, i might be finished in time for Christmas :50:.

Have you noticed that there isn't so many birds/ducks about? We were just saying that the other day.

Probably due to the time of year Jeannie, the last few months have been busy with nest building, egg laying, feeding young etc, there's no need for much birdsong now to attract a mate or ward off a rival, maybe that's why you don't hear them so much, they're still around but just a lot quieter.:50:

We usually see Mergansers, Widgeon and Eider ducks and I don't believe that I've seen any this year. There's been nothing exotic either like the Egret. Seen very few of the wee birds like the finches, blue and green *. There's been considerably less Gulls. Plenty of Mallards and the usual dippers around and for every 100 yards of beach individual Herons sit in isolated spots........I always wonder how they actually meet up to mate!

It has been quiet Jeannie. Let's hope it's a one-off and not sign of things to come

Big Cats 24/7 on Sunday evenings at 8pm on BBC2 and the BBC I Player is outstanding. Filmed in an amazing area of African wilderness in Botswana by an outstanding team. Watching this makes you realise how much you love the natural world and more.

I've watched the whole thing Good Friend. What a show. The enthusiasm of the team made this show unmissable, along with the amazing views and cool animals.
