Me and Ruby Roo flushed my first Woodcock of the year on the edge of a wooded footpath on my local patch this morning.

 

Yesterday on a afternoon walk leading into pure dusk with Ruby Roo i got prolonged excellent views of a female Peregrine mobbing a Common Buzzard which was on the deck. She was very vocal and as darkness was taking over she carried on having a go at he Buzzard. This is pretty unusual, not sure what it was about, unless the Buzzard had claimed the Falcon's prey somehow???

Brilliant species the Long Tailed Duck Johnie, i have not seen this ever so handsome Sea duck since 2017 in the Highlands!!! I am not jealous, honestly!!

Hooded Crows, I watched them for a while collecting Cockles, flying high up and continually dropping the shellfish until they opened, they're a crafty lot. Red Shank. Oyster Catcher. Little Egret. Red breasted Merganser.

Johnie, that's an amazing patch you've got there. Great variety of bird species. Like my good friend, I'm not jealous

 

Cheers John , there's a great variety of habitat around here within a few minutes drive, most of the time i head out to Balisodare bay estuary, it's a few miles long with some great sites to put up the hide and spend a few hours without too much interruption as the places i tend to go to are sparcely populated.
