My wife, Caroline and I have always went out for a walk on New Years Day. Usually hungover, but we've done it. Makes the hangover slightly more bearable. This year we didn't do until the 2nd Jan. I know the derby was on but I had to keep up tradition, (thankfully I missed the game btw). We went up to Hogganfield Loch. Absolutely freezing but superb. Great to see Whooper and Mute Swans, lots of Goosanders, Goldeneye, Tufted Ducks, Coots and Moorhens, Greylag and Canada Geese, Black-Headed Gulls, Herring Gulls and Lesser Black-Back Gulls, Mallards, a stunning Bibbed Mallard, Carrion Crows, Jackdaws and Pochards.
We also saw the Mute Swan that was reported to be trapped in the ice. Unbelievably sad to watch it thrash about to try and free itself. Thankfully, someone phoned the Fire Service and the RSPA, and they manged to free it. A great, but really cold, day.

Sounds a wonderful outing :100: We were out walking this morning and it's absolutely gorgeous out there. If it weren't freezing and snow on Arran we could be anywhere in the world :50:
