Superb. An Osprey at this time of year, that IS priceless. Still looking for a sight of my first Crossbill. Heard them a few times in Muirshel Country Park, but never seen one. Great place, though, for Cuckoo's, Raven, and Hen Harriers.
Also seen lots of Skylarks, Pied Flycatchers, and once seen a Great Grey Shrike , Wheatears and Tree Pipits in Muirshel Park.

Cheers johnboy19 yes there still is a few Ospreys in the UK,but by November just about all will be well on their way to their African Winter quarters.
Its only a matter of time before you connect with Crossbills pal.Muirshel Park sounds an amazing place.

Update on my Starling situation. It's now Carrion Crows, House Sparrows and Herring and Lesser Black-Back Gulls that are sitting on the roofs, wires and fences all around my house. It's superb to watch all their squables.

I never tire of seeing or hearing starlings.:50:

Perfect time of year to see them, especially when flocking at dusk.

Autumnwatch last week was amazing. Watching those Starlings mimicing the Curlew and the Buzzard was a stand out moment in the show. My daughter had a letter read out in the show to Chris Packam a couple of years ago. She still basks in that moment of glory

Today while with my boxer dog Jasmine on my local beach,a cool Black Throated Diver was off shore feeding. Also a female Peregrine flew past with a Jackdaw in her talons, harassed first by a Carrion Crow, then 2 Herring Gulls joined in the mobbing as the large Falcon screamed at them.
A Kestrel the beach as well and half a dozen or so Great Crested Grebes fished close in.No Seals today but yesterday 2 were very close in.Also yesterday a calling Chough flew over my house as did a male Sparrowhawk.

A Kestrel was the main reason my daughter and I got into birdwatching. We knew there was a nest near us but weren't sure where, but one day we saw the bird, followed it to it's nest , and watched all day as it hunted, and brought back food to it's chicks. We've now been doing it for years, and we've seen some really special sights in nature, all due to a Kestrel.

Snap johnboy19 back in the day when i was 10 and 11 years old for 2 straight summer holidays i really studied a pair of Kestrels on the nearby Golf course where i used to live,i watched them hunt, catch prey and feed their chicks. That is what really got me into Birding! I remember when i first found the nest,i was so excited because these were actual Falcons!
And shaun.f you are spot on about these great progs!

Yesterday a flock of 240 Lapwing flew over my nearby Golf Course, coming from over the sea.
This morning at my local headland 20 plus Seal were in the bay,2 Chough showing well nearby and a handsome male Black Redstart was feeding in the quarry above,in the company of my boxer dog Jasmine of course, she wanted to go and say hello to the sealzees! Some were calling.
