He is not good enough but the one thing I will say for him is I don’t know why we keep playing him off the right when apart from one game against Dundee where the full team were exceptional he has always been poor out there. On the left he at least takes his man on and ties up a defender or two. He is a man down on the right.

I would maybe even try Valle as a winger before our other options if Kuhn is out.

 

Just doesn’t impact enough games really, it’s as simple as that.

I actually thought Mccowan was a vast improvement on him as a winger. We need better.

 

He's such a nothing player. I swear almost every game he starts I forget he's playing until he's hooked

 

Obviously from a depth stand point we cannot sell him right now but its clear he is not good enough so we should be looking to sell him as soon as we can get a replacement signed. Clearly with Palma on the way out we badly need 2 wingers in.

 

A good dribbler, can quite easily go by a few players.

Does absolutely nothing with it. Has he ever hit a shot?

 

It's a waste of time playing him, Palma's confidence must be absolutley ruined knowing he's behind him in the pecking order and must watch him thinking he doesn't shoot or cross.

 

I think there's a few unfair comments around his performance tonight. He wasn't that bad. Made some good runs and put a few dangerous balls into the box. Better than Palma's 5 stepovers that went out the park. Of course he needs to do more and carry a better final ball but he certainly wasn't as bad as some people are making out.

 

It's just he's played that much now for me and cannot be trusted to provide anything.

Technically he's a skilled player, great touch, can beat people for fun, passes it about well but the guys supposed to be an attacking player on to unlock the opposition, he offers almost no threat, the odd time he will get into the box and cut a ball back but doing that twice a game is nothing when you're not hitting a shot or getting any other balls into the box or anything happening.

We could probably put CCV on the right wing and be more of a threat.

To be fair to him I think he always looked better on the left, he likes to dribble and on the left he has more of an option to go both ways compared to the right, when he cuts back and dribbles into the box he never shoots with his left and 9 times out of 10 just lays the ball off. When he plays on the left he might shoot more as hed naturally be cutting onto his stronger foot but he's rarely played on the left.

 

I agree with most of that. But as a back up option, I don't think he's the worst. Thought he had a passable performance tonight. Agree he's better off the left but no point in taking Daizen away from there. He's effectively our 3rd choice right winger, behind Kuhn and Forrest. And I think he's been OK when called upon in the last few weeks. I could pick several players who've played worse in some of our recent games.

 

Pretty sure there was clips on his YouTube video of Valle playing their in pre season for Barca. Suprised we've tried it

 

He's not good enough but you do wonder what goes on in training too.

He can go by men for fun but has no final ball, find it strange that in 18 months no one had been able to coach that into him or as t berry least improve upon it.

Maeda talked about all the extra work he done with Kewell when he was here and you can definitely see improvement in his crossing and delivery.

Yang's maybe just a list cause tho

 

The upshot to playing him so much is that it will likely increase his sell value. 22yo, 30+ games for Celtic, looks good on paper. There's bound to be some team out there in need of a winger and out of ideas.

 

He’s basically a less threatening Mikey Johnston. At least he actually got the odd goal and assist, his record for a winger is absolutely atrocious. He can be as good at dribbling or beating 4 men as he wants but it counts for nothing when his end product is as poor as his is.

 

Cba roasting any of our players but we can see the massive drop off when Kuhn was missing. It's a shame as I like Yang's endeavour but it won't work out unfortunately.

Really poor for me.
The commentator getting excited " Yang goes past one man, 2, 3 men" but it was going backwards towards his own goal. Never once tried to go on the outside, must have been so easy to play against, just looks so far off it.
Surely there is a kid in the reserves that would be a better option?
