Aye in that respect but in terms of adding to the quality of the squad

Yang is certainly in that category to ship in January. We probably only need 3 players but have around 5 players to ship out to make way.

But totally agree with quantity over quality

I haven't written Yang off yet, I still think there is a player there that can be developed further by the coaching team. He has the heart, bravery, and physique, just need to refine his technique more.

Thought he played ok. Should have had another assist 2nd half but Kyogo missed it. Has pace, a bit of strength and can beat a man. Still young and time to develop. Definitely will improve with a bit more experience.

Worse than that for me, he was trying to do something different and take the ball on a run. But would run directly into traffic, very predictably so, and be forced into passing it back.

If I’m looking at positives for him from that performance he was less erratic than we’ve seen previous, he worked hard, didn’t hide, eventually got his assist. Can’t see him making it really, but can see some sort of BR influence on his game.

His end product is pretty much non-existent for me though.

In the end I was willing him to run into traffic, it caused more chaos than just giving it back to Ralston!

The home game last season he burst into life proves he has it in him, he just isn’t mentally prepared or well coached enough to understand what to do and when to do it.

This is the thing that's bugs me about Rodgers reputation for coaching. I don't actually see any good examples of it across the both times he's been our manager.

Edit: maybe Roberts but even that feels a stretch

As the auld fella on at the boats ye used to hire would shout...'Come in number 13, yer time is up!'

Upgrade on him and Palma would massively increase the squad depth.

I feel like that first paragraph isn’t a universal experience, I hired a pedalo once but don’t get the 13 reference:56:

Palma has something about him though. I want at least one more game he’s on the left but someone like Kuhns the opposite wing. Dundee Palma was unlucky not to have 2/3 assists. Was our main threat. Subs happened, Yang who was * bad ended up with one. Because AJ forced that for the opener, his pass and run for Yang.

Yang suddenly gets subbed off, having set up a goal. Palma was subbed not having done it. But Palma was far better, more dangerous for me. And if we have a threat on both wings, both needing covered, like if Kuhn is on the right instead. You’ll see both being deadly then.

Time we hired them he was mostly shouting you can’t hit your brother with the oar.

my defense though, he was trying to capsize it and ad no win without the big stick :56:

Yang is a player we should have loaned out to an SPFL team though. He has a lot of different attributes that he’s not quite added together yet, his decision making and end product is diabolical. But it’s mentally, not that he can’t.

But he’ll only learn playing week in, week out. He’ll play one odd game like Dundee midweek here. That doesn’t breed consistency and a player knowing how to use his natural talent that. He needs games. He doesn’t deserve games at us.

Taking the * out them off the bench tonight. Hope he screws the nut and realises when he's positive and confident he's some player one-on-one.
