I think he's shown he has ability. He needs consistency and an end product which usually comes with experience.
Abada was quite precocious. There aren't many 19/20 year olds who could perform like he did.
Kuhn, Christie, even Scales have shown that sometimes it takes a bit of time to reach your potential - and that's only Celtic players off the top of my head.
Who's knows if he'll end up good enough but I think he's one who has a chance.

Fair enough. Hopefully you're right but I've not seen that much at all from him barring some flashes against Aberdeen and Dundee I think it was. Seems lightweight and lacking any sort of footballing brain when it matters.

My point with Abada is more that if we are buying young talent it should be ones that are shining out in a small or medium sized European side. E.g. Engels, Abada or even this Toure lad. Ideally in that £3-10m or so price point.

Think this was always a risk. A cheap one mind.

He can skin a man and has a wee burst now and then but it's the same old story throughout his entire career..

    Will never produce numbers..

    Picks the wrong option
    Can't finish
Can't find that final pass when he does decide he wants to make it

    Nah..

That all comes with experience usually, but he won’t get the experience at us. He’ll be on the bench another 6 months, then an emergency 7th choice then maybe a loan out

I know he got a deflected assist but I honestly think he's terrible..

He's really tidy on the ball, but he just doesn't do...well, anything. Tries and tries, great attitude, just lacks something. Similar to Palma in that just something is missing compared to Kuhn.

From what I could pick up, didn't sound like he offered a great deal tonight, and I get that he hasn't played at this level for a while, so it a bit rusty, but Yang did have a golden opportunity to finish from a really good ball from Palma, and yet again he fluffed it.

He was * tonight, complete lack of responsibility from an attacking sense. Passed the ball back to the guy that gave him it almost every time.

Regressed right back to the guy that first joined.

Poor for me, he's big and athletic with good pace and can beat men but he never really does anything progressive.

Not got the bottle I don't think to beat a man and hit a shot or put a ball in, just always runs along the edge of the box and lays it off or passes it inside to someone.

Needs to be more ruthless and attempt to make things happen.

The assist was a fluke and he was otherwise rubbish. He is never ever going to be good enough to be a regular starter.

Again, not gonna make it here.

He's nowhere near the level we need. Strikes me as being mentally quite weak and too nice. No swagger or end product, two very key things for a winger at any club.

Agreed with the posts above, he lacks killer instinct and final product. His strengths are his pace and dribbling which might suit a counter attacking team but at a much lower level.

    Useless against packed defences though.

An obvious lack of confidence and self belief.. had a bit of a blind spot for him as more out of hope I thought he could turn good but it's not gonna happen.. petrified to give the ball away by either taking his man on or making a decisive pass.

Frustrated with him last night, a few times Ralston gave him an overlapping run with an option to pass to and he'd turn inside to traffic or pass to middle killing the tempo of our attack.

He genuinely looks like he has no clue what he is doing out there. Some skill to go past players with ease but his decision making and football intelligence is zero.

He dribbles when he should pass and passes when he should dribble. He has to score that one Palma put in with the outside of his boot, it was a great delivery.

He would be on the January move him on list for me. It is actually mental that in January you would sell:

    - Bernabei (signed summer 22)
    - Yang (signed summer 23)
    - Holm (signed summer 23)
    - Nawrocki (signed summer 23)
    - Lagerbielke isn’t getting a look in at Twente and Malmo are apparently desperate to sign him, recall and punt (Signed summer 23)
    - Palma (signed Summer 23)

Which would mean if we managed to move on the above nearly every player signed from summer 2022 and the full of 2023 will have left the club either permanently or on loan with the exception of Alastair Johnston. Shows how bad the recruitment was for that period.

I'm being too soft these days. Running about defending every player.

I felt every time he got the ball there was 3 Dundee players over at him. I think our wingers get a hard time because for whatever reason we expect them to do something in that situation which is totally unrealistic, although maybe it wasn't as bad as that.

If we assume that was the case, what's the cause? To me, Ralston didn't have a great game and probably didn't help Yang enough to open space. Midfielders maybe contributed to that too.

I don't think it's any surprise AJ comes on, with instruction from Rodgers, and immediately Yang assists him for a goal.

Don't get me wrong, he's not the answer but I don't think he was awful last night.
