Not going to argue too much about it, it's obvious a lot of people don't like him. The James Forrest thread comments from 10 year ago hows how inaccurate people's predictions about a player's future or growth can be. If he gets moved on or loaned out, however the manager sees fit, fair enough, but I've seen enough in terms of his attitude and ability that I don't mind him starting for us at all.

Genuinely not being smarmy, but what have you seen from his ability that suggests he should start for a celtic team?

I think he's got a lot of skill and takes a man on well. The main issues he had for me at first were his delivery and when he was taking a man on he didn't really seem to have a plan, he'd just run straight at them and invariably run into them and lose the ball. Towards the end of the season his decision making seemed to improve and was actually taking it round players, and his passing/crossing was better. He was initially only effective on the left, but again as the season progressed, he looked like he could be used on the right on occasion.

At one point last season I actually said I'd had enough of him and he'd had enough chances, but then his following games when he got a chance he was really good, and received high praise even on here. As I say, I've seen enough to think he can develop.

For every James Forrest there’s half a dozen players who get written off “early” and do indeed end up failing. Plus the fact a lot of people were getting impatient over Forrest being constantly injured.

The bit in bold. I genuinely don’t believe you or others believe it when you say that.

When our attackers are all fit we’ll have Jota left wing and Maeda up top. You’re telling me you’d be fine with Yang starting on the right? Don’t you think the chasm between the other two and Yang is * huge?

Talk about standards being through the floor.

Believe what you want, as I said previously, not going to debate it that much when people obviously see things differently. It's a waste of my time.

Isn't the whole point of a forum to debate..?

    It’s a good point.

Talk nonsense. Then refuse to have a debate about it. Magic.

I've debated it enough on here. There's no point taking it further when it's obvious opinions differ so much on the subject. I'm not trying to win an argument or prove myself correct.

It's admirable some here want Yang to succeed, a likeable guy who is working very, very hard.
That chimes with many fans, like Ralston.

I think that why the arguments come - no one is debating Palma because we as fans hate non triers or bad attitudes so dont give a *.
Even tho Palma is 3 times the player Yang is - but ultimately his lazy, bad attitude has ended his Celtic career.

As others have said - this Yang debate is much more about maintaining high standards at Celtic than Yang personally

Hopefully Celtic give Yang a loan chance as a reward for his effort and if he surprises most of us - great, if not nothing lost.

The management make mistakes. They're wrong to continuously choose him but then again, who else have we got? We shouldn't be in a position where we have the calibre of Yang coming on to improve us or dig us out a hole.

Kuhn just went for £17m. We'd be lucky to get 15% of that for Yang and his can do attitude.

Schmeichel has let us down a few times in the season just passed but he saved us way too many times.

He has been better than Hart and I loved Hart.

As for the Cup final...Yang a stand out for you?

The fat lady has sung and the Yang gang express has pulled in to the station … should be sent out on loan or punted.

Seems like a nice hardworking guy, but I don’t see that much improvement in him since he’s arrived.

The reason we perservered with Yang is simply because Kuhn downed tools like a petulant school boy for the last six months. We were very fortunate we got £17M for Kuhn given his attitude imo. I've said my piece on Schemeichel, there is no more to be said and I'm now moving on from it. I've also said my piece on the Scottish Cup Final, there is no more to be said, and I'm now moving on from it.

I like to get things off my chest and then move on.:giggle1:

I seem to recall his games leading up to the Hearts away last season when he got sent off were impressive

Forrest was always miles better than Yang, even when he was receiving a lot of criticism.

Would like to hear Rodgers' own thoughts on Yangs progress. I think he's been pretty satisfied with it but it's a tricky one to judge.
