I think we'll be pleasantly surprised this summer..

 

Would surprise me unless Rodgers commits to a longer deal.

If it looks like hes off at the end of next season then thats probably where most of the changes will occur I think.

You always think we need lots of new signings, but most managers prefer to work with small squads. It's way easier to keep players happy and motivated.

Given Tierney is a done deal, our only weak link in the starting lineup is CCV's partner at centre half. Won't be easy to improve on the rest of our regular starters. Even at centre half, we spent relatively big at the start of the season for Trusty. I really don't expect big changes unless we are forced to sell.

Imo, the biggest priority is a winger to battle it out with Jota-Kuhn. I expect Maeda and Idah to share minutes at CF. Second priority is an upgrade on Trusty/Scales. Third priority would be a squad player at CM. Watson from Killie would fit the bill. That's about it. Hope we keep all important players. Wouldn't be upset if we part ways with Idah provided we replace him properly.

 

The stage is set for this wee superstar to step up and make Jota's injury not as significant a loss. Think he can and will do the business.

 

Elsewhere, South Korean winger Yang Hyun-Jun has returned to first-team training, and he is rated as touch and go for the Rangers game

We've also got Yang-Hyun Jun back. Yang is back training with the squad, so we'll give him one more day tomorrow and then we'll see if he's going to be available for the squad.

 

It does look like we will need to do a fair bit of business this summer. Still quite a few players we will try and hopefully be able to sell such as Lagerbielka, Nawrocki, Palma, Tilio, Kwon, Welsh. Johnny Kenny is entering the final year of his Celtic contract this summer and it would not shock me at all if he was allowed to leave for nothing or a very small fee. Yang I would have thought would be on the move if a decent offer comes in although with Jotas long term injury that may not happen. That is just the players we will or likely will look to try and sell this summer that are not important players in our squad other then Yang who credit to him has made a solid contribution to this season. Then there is always the possibility that a player or 2 that are big players for us will leave. I am thinking mostly of Hatate and Kuhn here. Hopefully especially again with Jotas injury in mind Kuhn stays for at least one more season. Schlupp will I highly doubt it sign a deal as we will never be able to match the wages someone in the bottom half of the epl will be able to offer him. So assuming all that happens we have a lot to do. The Taylor situation will decide whether we need another left back most likely. Another center back is needed. A big holding mid should be a priority IMHO. We will need at least 2 wingers one for each side and maybe another striker depending on whether Rodgers want Maeda to be a 9 principally next season or is ok with moving him back out wide left.

 

People are being incredibly optimistic if they are reasoning that Maeda and Kuhn are both going to be here next season.

 

Kuhn will be gone. Maeda I'd expect to still be here.

 

What makes you think Maeda will be here next season mate...

We're sure to receive bids that will be difficult to say no to or stop him from moving

 

Just a feeling. He's Maeda for us.

 

Was really hoping he'd have signed a new deal by now. Starting to get the fear

 

Done well when he came on, just a couple of wee mistakes preventing him making great chances. Pretty clear his confidence is still high which is the thing that will make an absolute mockery if those who are determined not to give him any credit.

So glad he's back fit.

 

A few poor passes but looked energetic.

I'd be keeping him next season, especially with Jota out for the foreseeable.

 

Thought Forrest, despite his pace fading, was better tbh. Would still give Yang remainder of domestic games though.
