Yang Hyun Jun

You only need to go back and read comments about Daizen on here. People thought he ran around like a headless chicken.....which he did. But his game has changed. Who's to say it wont happen with Yang.

 

Credit where its due he played well last night when he came on no question. But long term I just don't see it that he can make it and establish himself as an important player at Celtic. Maybe a good loan deal over the summer might help and thats what we should do if Rodgers believes he has a long term future at Celtic. But IMHO I just don't see it and if we can get a good offer for him in the summer we should sell.

 

I’m a believer. I think there’s a player there and it would be a mistake to sell just now. If he hasn’t put it together by next season then maybe.

 

Anyone who can't see the talent in him is actively trying not to see it, therefore rendering their opinion on the matter redundant.

Yep. He’s looked decent in about 4 of his 53 appearances. He isn’t good enough.

 

Of course, a young foreign player taking a good while to find his feet at a massive club could never happen.

I agree. Think he's in a similar situation to Johnny Kenny; still here because we failed to bring in a replacement. There's a very slim chance that he improves enough over the next 3 months that he's worth keeping around, but can't see it happening.

 

I'm of a different opinion. No loan, no sale of Yang. He has the potential now to be a real asset for us.

 

He has talent, and looks physically good, but you need more than that. You need football intelligence and character to play for Celtic, I just haven't seen those qualities in Yang yet.

 

Hmmm, get the comparison you are trying to make but the difference can be summarised within the first 5 minutes of daizens debut, he scored. Isn't yang still on the one goal?

If you can’t make a judgement on a player having watched them over 50 times, when can you?

Nice guy, works hard and is clearly taking on instructions from Rodgers and co. However I don’t think he’s good enough to ever be a regular for us, simple as that. He’s 5th choice winger when Forrest is fit and is at a stage in his career he’ll want regular game time. He’s been a man down so many times when he’s been on the pitch. The negatives in his Celtic career so far vastly outweigh the smidgeon of positives.

You’re conveniently forgetting I said he’d do a job even if I thought he was done and that I was also far happier with the signing when Sinisalo was announced. Some of the concerns I had about him have reared their head too. Overall he’s been excellent though, which I didn’t expect. I’m fine with that I’ve been wrong about players before, the important thing is the ability to change your mind when presented with new evidence.

 

Hey I would love to be wrong and I sure hope your right. Time will tell and either way we will know this summer when Rodgers decides what to do with Yang going forward.

I'll die on the hill that Yang is a better player (or at the very least better suited to us) than Palma. The only thing I could give Palma over him was end product but even that fell off a cliff after his bright start.
