Decent contribution against Raith but still nowhere near it for us.

 

Iwata was fine, but Rodgers didn't think he needed a DM. I think we should always have some Asian players. Easier to get them than European ones (see Kvistgaarden and Strelec).

 

In fairness Ideguchi also showed promise before that shocker of a challenge that ruled him out for months. I always rated Iwata too. Oh did contribute and Yang has shown flashes of what he's capable of. That game yesterday was by far his best in a Celtic jersey.

 

Next step for the Korean Messi is a hunskelping performance at CP. Then ibrox.

After that it'll be a winner at Hampden to lift the cup, followed by helping us qualify for the CL. Once there, a few goal involvements and at least one MOTM performance.

Continuing on for the following 2 seasons, meanwhile his detractors will be reluctant to utter a word about his successes, only piping up when he misplaces a pass or has a lacklustre game.

Was that game not Ideguchi’s debut? He was just nowhere near the level required, in a similar boat to Kobyashi for me.

 

Ideguchi made 3 appearances and played a few friendlies. Not once did we finish a game I thought.....he's * *.

 

The last mass influx of Asian players only had 3 pass marks aswell, Shunsuke Nakamura and Ki Seung Young.
Koki Mizuno, Du Wei., Cha Du Ri, Zheng Zhi,
None of them were any good.
It's a big risk you are taking with an Asian player as to whether they can settle and adapt to the Scottish game or not.

Aye but my point was he never really showed much promise before that tackle because he never had the opportunity. Don’t get me wrong it did him no favours and he was pretty much on a hiding to nothing thereafter but he was never going to be anything more than a 5th or 6th choice midfielder for us.

 

Nice fantasy. Not happening.

 

Or Forrest returns from injury and Yang stops making squads..
