Right now Yang looks ordinary...I don't think he's good enough but my point is Brendan sees him everyday and must see something...Yang needs to help himself...show us something otherwise be loaned out to some team in epl 2...hope wrong

Plenty talent as Ive always said and he showed there but he’s at best playing for a move now.

The way he can beat guys 1v1 i can only compare to McCourt that I’ve seen.

Yeah there’s all this talk of Murray being young and untested….hes 1 year younger than Yang? Yang gets a fair bit of unnecessary stick, happy for him today

Don't get me wrong...Daizen made up for early flaws with workrate...Rogic flash of magic..would love for Yang to prove me wrong but I've never seen any bit of magic...my point before was bout how we are so quick to criticise but ddnt realise from comment above that Yang played 50+ games...

Had a really good game. Every Celtic fan wants every Celtic player to succeed, it’s just the evidence in so many games he’s played in suggests he won’t. Don’t think anyone has anything against him to want to give him stick. Hopefully he proves the majority wrong.

That’s your opinion though, mine is that the only reason folk are saying he played very well is because it’s contrasted with his base level - absolute *.

He’s nowhere remotely close to a Kuhn, Jota or Maeda and that’s the level our wingers are at.

His positioning and game intelligence are almost nothing and for an almost 23 year old that’s criminal.

People are saying BR sees something in him, I personally do not agree with that statement. It is out of pure necessity Yang is playing at all just now. Forrest is injured and we have had a ton of games, that’s the only reason he is playing. He’ll be gone asap Rodgers feels he has the cover. Not having a go at the guy, he is nowhere near good enough for us. However, give any of us the same opportunity as Yang is getting and we’d all be there.

I don't rate him either but I'm not sure that's fair..

He had a good game yesterday with an end product and he deserves credit for that, he made his finish look easy, when it wasn't.. and 2 assists..

So, he played well regardless of what's went before..

Even if turning it on v a Championship Team is more like his level..

He played well, well better than his usual pish and deserves praised for that but it's also worth remembering we were playing a team sitting 7th in the division below. So I wouldn't be going over the top and thinking hes turned some corner.

Hopefully he has and it gives him a boost in confidence but based on his overall contribution over the past 18 months I'll not hold my breath and still want him nowhere near the pitch on Wednesday nite.

Aye 50 plus games and that last game against Raith Rovers was his best game by far. Unfortunately for him we're playing better teams than Raith Rovers every week.
50 games is a lot of opportunity to show that your worth keeping.

But it seemed like Jota done more in that one game against Dundee than Yang done all season. The difference was crazy. And apparently Jota isn't up to full speed yet. So when he is Yang won't be near the first team.

Maybe try him on loan to say a Hibs or Aberdeen, maybe Dundee Utd (hearts can * off). That would be ideal cause he would make the first team of any of those clubs....and we'd get to see what he was really made of

Jota also cost us £9 million. Yang cost us 30p. There’s always gonna be a gulf/drop off in quality.

Yang is exactly what he’ll always be for us….a sub/rotational player.

anyone expecting him to be the next Maeda/jota/abada/kuhn needs to be realistic and see him for what he is.

no need for any of the stick either tbh. I’d get it if he didn’t give 200% every game but he does? Give the boy a break

Good game yesterday but still don't think he has enough to make it here.

If I can be proven wrong, great. But it's no coincidence his standout performance in a celtic shirt after 50 or so appearances was against that level of opposition. That's no being harsh it's just the facts so far.

It's true but judging on a price tag can be deceiving. Jota did cost £9 million and Yang was barras prices.
But Moussa Dembelle cost 500 grand from Fulham. He edged Griffiths out the team (who had scored 40 plus goals one season) and made the position his.

It's about if your good enough to do it...and you've got to show it in bigger games than Raith Rovers to be convincing

Nah Dembele cost that cos of the cross border fees and timing it with his contract running down. That’s not a fair comparison and also is a totally different position. Comparing current winger signings makes more sense

I agree on the last point but that’s also my point, have to be realistic on what he can achieve in comparison to the rest. He wouldn’t have made so many appearances also if Rodgers didn’t see something in him

He cost us a couple of million and he’ll never be a sub/rotational player here, he’ll be gone in the summer.

We need quality backups not just a guy that tries hard and is a top bloke.

It's difficult for us to be successful in Europe but we need players who can at least compete and make an impact..

Yang v Villa was as far out of his depth as it gets.

I stand corrected, just googled it and didn’t realise he cost £2mil. We definitely meant to sign the other Yang that went to Tottenham then :67: Ange must have been buzzing when he realised the * up and signed the right one for spurs hahaha

Yang, Kwon, Oh, Koboyashi, Iwata were all products of delving too deep into the Asian market.
Kyogo, Maeda and Hatate were clearly succeeding in Scotland and we just assumed every Asian player we signed would do the same.
    Too many Asian ventures.
    Ideguchi didn't succeed either
