Reasonably good WM. I didn't get really psyched for any of the events, bar the 'Taker vs. HHH fight. And even that was kind of spoiled, by the constant shouts of HHH at HBK 'to end it'. What?! Aye, like he's just going to ring the bell, and that'll be that. Either he was asking him for a favour (unlikely), or he was asking him to check 'Taker, and see if he wanted to quit. I can only recall HBK doing that on one occasion, and it was absolutely absurd. 'Taker is never going to quit...especially early on in a WM event.

Other than that, it was an expertly handled wrestling match. I would've liked to see a little more innovation concerning the Cell, but it's a bit of a exhausted concept. They only added it to amp up the significance of the match, which was unnecessary. If you're not going to bring anything original to the destruction, or include it in the story, then there's zero reason to have the event. Bit of an insult to the respective wrestlers ability to perform.

Only other wrestling match worth talking about was the Rock/Cena match. I was rooting for the Great One, so a pleasing result for myself and the rest of the ol' Attitude fans. A very good display from Dwayne, as well, considering it's been nearly a decade since he's been in ring involvement. You know how much it means to him...even ignoring those vaguely cringe-worthy promos they ran for the pair. He pours sweat and life for the company, and just exuded class and wrestling technique.

It was more or less business as usual for Cena on the night. He brought nothing new to the match, and continues to be an utterly boring wrestler to see in the ring. Him smirking and looking kind of surprised at the Rock showing his skill was embarrassing, as well. Just added oil to the fire.

Hope we see more from Jericho. Last night wasn't enough for me. He has genuine talent and if creative give him a good story, you know he'll execute it superbly. Also, while I was glad to see Sheamus win against Bryan, I was hoping to see at least a few moves, rather than just have him squash him. Bit *, especially when you consider how they chose to use the rest of the time during the event. The Flo-rida and P Diddy teen group were * hateful. Rightly booed.

Anyway, hope everyone pushes on from last night, the Rock especially. We can have a number of great matches follow this, if he sticks around.

Also, loved seeing Edge, albeit briefly. It's a * shame his body is *. I'd love to see him return for one last tag-team match at WM to show the current talent how it's done.

Maybe bring back the Hardy boyz or the Dudley brothers as opponents, or both. :icon_mrgreen:

Thought it was a disapointing Wrestlemania. All the build up from the Royal Rumble and that the winner gets to Main Event Wrestlemania and then his match was over inside 18 seconds.

Also although i thought the Taker and HHH match was a great match, the * In A Cell played no part in it (I thought it would have been like the old days with the 2 of them on top of the Cell fighting.)

The structure is now too high for them to go to the top. If you compare the cells they use these days, compared to the ones that Mankind and Undertaker used in the Attitude Era, it's twice as high and this is why they rarely have superstars go to the top of the cell.

The cages used in HIAC matches used to be the same as the cages used in Steel Cage matches, albeit with a roof on the top.

Finally got round to watching this...

Overall I thought it was ok - not great, not terrible. A few things that stood out for me:

In my opinion the opening match was a disgrace. To give the title 10 seconds and first billing to a main title belt is a farce. Santino and Mick Foley were given more time to promote a programme about fish than the world title was given. An utter joke and really emphasized how little authority the title now carries.

I thought Taker v HHH was very good. As expected of course but they still put on a good show and both really pushed themselves to put on a good show. Jericho v Punk was also top notch as expected. I was expecting these to stand out and they did.

Rock v Cena, I thought was ok really. Two wrestlers who are average wrestlers having a slightly above average fight. Very surprised to see Cena lose clean but clearly shows Rock win be sticking around for a bit.

And that was it really. The rest were fine. I thought the biggest fights lived up to the hype in general expect the world heavyweight and the rest was ok as well.
