Not in a week of Sunday's...he's still our best forward, unless you count Kris, despite what the consensus on here seems to be currently.

I don't mind Stokes. Has served us well over the years...but it doesn't mean we shouldn't be striving to improve upon players like him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go. Times have to change and eventually, we will slowly see the Lennon side disappear into the past.

Can't see him having much of an input this season.

Stop putting a pound sign on everything. Even if he does not start then he is good enough to come off the bench and to provide cover. This is exactly the kind of fringe/back up players we need. Players who can/have done it in the past.

Yes but I think he's worth more than 1.5m to us. We need a different option though.

Did we not reject a bid not far off that from, Huddersfield?

He is worth at the very least 2.5 for me..

Because we know he can't cut it in Europe, and we need to try and get players who can. It takes random punts on guys like Lassad, Bangura, Balde, but it's the only way to eventually get players in who can perform at the highest level. Stokes has had more than enough time to show what he can do.

1 year left on his contract, not going to be a first-team player, not sure if he fits into Deila's long-term ideology (can't play the lone striker role & doesn't have the pace for Deila's blueprint based loosely on Red Bull Salzburg)

All in all, to not cash in now would be poor asset-management in my opinion.

So what. He does it in Scotland. That is our bread and butter. Even if he is not good enough for Europe does not mean that we should punt him. I would even argue that there is some players in our starting 11 who are not good enough for Europe, namely Izzy but it doesnt mean we should punt him.

Would anybody even take him off us though? He'd be at a decent wage at us and I don't think anybody who would take him would be able to match that. Hopefully he puts football first, but I can see him just sitting back for a year and taking the paycheck before leaving on a free next summer.

Hopefully some * offers us a fee though.

I would swap Stokes for a packet of Space Raiders. He's *..........his hair is looking great though. That's the Barnet Formula we should be talking about.

You obviously dont read many of my posts as I am constantly battling our decent into mediocrity. Stokes is a good player and is a good option to have in our squad. If we have superior players, great, but it does not mean we should immediately punt a proven player. In fact if he is not at our club then we will be more mediocre than if he stays.

These PLC happy clappers are totally brainwashed by Lawwell and his balance sheets.

Why would anyone want to sell Stokes? We are not exactly flourishing with strikers are we? It's not as if the money would be spent on another striker - maybe Lawwells * bonus probably.

Sell Stokes because he's not very good? We could possibly still get a fee for him now instead of losing him on a free next year? Wages could be spent elsewhere? He's always been atrocious in Europe? He's not developing into a better player?
