    The question is pretty much by the by. We won't be selling him this month and he doesn't want to go.

    In the summer there will be bids but if they don't match our valuation of him then he won't be going then either.

    I think a lot of fans are going to be left shocked when he does go, it's all good and well saying sell Aiden for 14 million then going and buying a better player for half that money but the reality is you cannot do that. Better players than McGeady don't want to play in the SPL and they don't cost 7 million quid either.

    Exactly our financial situation won't change one jot. We'll still be paying a maximum of maybe 4.5 million per player which is no way guaranteed an improvement on McGeady or what we already have. We could end up buying 3 x 3 million quid flops.

    totally agree!
    great players are not exactly queuing up to play in spl
    so the 13 or 14 mill.doesnt do us any good.
    8-10 yrs ago it was different!

    Wouldn't sell him for any price this month. McGinn isn't worth talking about as a replacement he isn't anywhere near McGeady's level.

    If we were to get £14M for him then it would not be completely reinvested in one top class replacement as these sorts of players don't want to be in the SPL and would command wages outwith our budget. We don't nee the money and the team would end off worse off. McGeady is out only real top class player so I wouldn't sell him until he's desperate to go. Birmingham aren't exactly a step up, so I'm not sure a move there would even interest Aiden. I don't think we'll see the back of McGeady until a top team comes in for him.

    I can't see another player like mcgeady coming to us for a good few years if he leaves, players like him that aren't Celtic fans don't want to come to the SPL to play in a * league and get kicked lumps out of them everygame because their more skillfull and quick than the rest of the clowns in this league. The only thing keeping mcgeady here this long is the fact hes a life long fan.

    He's our best player & we are not a selling club.

    If the offer was around 20million, I would look at selling him - if we had an able replacement lined up.
