Is a class above Forrest, who seems to have not lived up to his potential. If we could sell Forrest for £4M and bring in Mcgeady for £2M plus wages, I'd take that.

No one would pay £4m for Forrest currently.

    No chance. Terrible end product.
Forrest isnt great, but in his defence, his best is yet to come. Hes not a million miles away from being a reliable modern winger.

Can't believe people wouldn't want him, he'd improve our squad and be good in Europe as well plus he's so much more experienced than when he left us.

    Heard it all now :smiley-laughing002:

As for back in the real world, I liked him when he was with us and it is fair to say we relied on him too much in the end up. Not surprised though that his career has went the way it has. I would take him back but not desperate.

Unambitious move to a team that were in the Champions League and challenging for the league. Also it takes a lot to move to a foreign country, where you don't know the language and don't know many(if any) people. Money may have been good but it doesn't provide the answer in every scenario.

It ended up disappointing. However not all down to him, if the new manager doesn't rate you or doesn't think you fit the teams style, then there's not much you can do about it. Shown a * sight more professionalism than the other Scottish based player who went to Russia.

Anyway, the question we should asking about signing McGeady or any other player for that matter.

Does he have qualities/abilities which can improve the team from its current standard?

Get the moaning wee faced * back up the road. He has bags of experience now. And for all the Huns that thought he wouldn't last a crack in Russia, well their club didn't hang around. So get him in!

    Sunderland in for him apparently.

According to Sunday People via BBCs football gossip.

This is not a good move for various reasons.
Player is no longer the exciting and talented winger that left the club.
It is a sentimental signing option rather than an astute signing deal.
Would not fit the wage structure.
Hasn't really done the business for Everton.
We have other more pressing signing needs in the squad.

Big step back but I predicted he'd end up returning when he left for Russia. Very frustrating player and doesn't fit into the modern day pass and move.

We'd be better off signing a performing seal. It has similar eye-grabbing talents, but would cost much less to employ!
