    Without a second thought.

Celtic are a massive club bursting at the seams to better themselves, and it sure as * aint gonna happen in the SPL.

I'd bite your hand off for a place in the Championship in England, and within a few years we'd be mingling with the type of company our club deserves.

This league is strangling our potential.

barr us and rankers the SPL would be similar to league 1 maybe even league 2 imo if you look at st mirren, hamilton , st johnstone etc.
Infact most championship teams look far more comfortable on the ball than we do when it comes to passing.

Would UEFA and FIFA not oppose such a move anyway?

Also, we're not wanted down there. The majority of English fans don't want us there and neither do the men who own their clubs.

That was a conservative estimate :52:

We would be in the Championship within 3 years, the club is bigger than anything in all 4 leagues below the Premiership. We would have all the best players in every league up until the top league and paying the biggest wages for the players to play in front of the biggest crowds.

All we would need is a decent manager to guide the ship.

All this talk of our side is not good enough is bollocks, if we got in that league there would be major investment! It will never happen.

Would a turkey vote for Christmas!

Thing is if we did start in the conference, players would want to leave because they don't want to play in that standard of football.

I would only want to go to England if it was in League 1 or above. We are too big to be in the conference.

Anyway, let's just focus on the SPL and try and dominate Scottish Football before we talk about moving to England.

Cardiff got to the semi finals of the Cup Winners Cup the year we won the big one, qualifying through the English league system.

In the past I would have agreed with you but we have just been thrown a unique set of circumstances. Two years ago (I think) Gartside initiated the idea of a new Premiership, tiered and including Celtic and the huns which was received poorly but yet better than it ever had been in the past. We have to ask why what was the catalyst of the proposal to begin with? Since then we have seen SKY haemorrhaging money left, right and centre with no bank in the land willing to loan them any sort of volume of money. The clubs down South are all running at a loss with the unnatural wealth they had drying up due to the economic recession and the value of assets plummeting. Now this past week Celtic have outed a number of the high ranking SFA cowboys as bigots vindicating the long held belief there is a constitutional bias against the club which has been in place for decades.

So the main association running football throughout the country don't want us here, there is an ever growing need for a shake up down South, SKY will ultimately dictate what happens, there would be a genuine spike in interest should we move down for an undistinguished period of time and our billionaire majority shareholder with major power in a number of places is 'adamant' we will play in England.

There's something brewing just now behind the scenes.

I'm sure television will dictate what happens in the future but there are so many complications involved it may be some way off.

Don't get too excited, rules in England state 18 clubs have to say YES, last time 19 said NO to the proposal, several people of high standing in Englands football authorities will do everything in their power to block the move.

I don't see it happening tbh.

If the English league accepted us rangers would love it - guarenteed to win the league every year and champions league football, but their fanbase would drop dramatically as most people buy their season book primarily for the old firm and Europe. It wouldn't be long until they were trying to follow us down.

Every club in England know what they are like and want nothing to do with them.

I can totally understand folk who feel that, as a Scottish club, we should be playing in the Scottish league.

But - with respect to all here - anyone who seriously believes it would hurt us football-wise, or we wouldn't hack it, is stone crazy. The moment we were accepted into the English league system our share-price would skyrocket, and investors from all over the world would be falling over themselves, clawing at each other to put their money into the club.

A club of Celtic's international 'brand' potential, given entry to the world's richest league system? Dermot Desmond's main occupation for the next six months would be fielding calls from all the other billionnaires wanting to buy out his shareholding. But there's no way he'd be selling - this is what he has been waiting for since day one. Almost overnight, those folk who can't understand why he won't "dip his hand into his pocket" to fund the club, would find themselves asking "* me, where's all this money come from?"

We would be promoted in successive years from whichever division we started in, and when we reached the Premier League, there would be a further influx of cash. We would be the odd team out, the new kids on the block, the team everyone was watching. And when we eventually began to play in Europe again, we would be playing at a whole different level - no longer the plucky underdogs punching above their weight, but now genuine contenders once more.

Would I be happy? Errr... yes... I think it's fair to say I'd be freakin happy!

    Ten decks ya bass! :icon_mrgreen:

This whole SFA/referee bias thing has depressed me so much that I decided last season I would love Celtic to play in another league, & for all the reasons mentioned by "The Hand" that league should be the English Premiership.

What a relief it would be getting a bad decision at say Anfield or even at another less illustrious place and knowing that it was just a simple referee mistake.

We could join the rest of the football world & just moan about the referees needing glasses.

I've got a better idea, if you want to support a team in a foreign league, why not support a foreign team?
