Obviously you could be right and I could be wrong. Time will tell. I think he got very lucky here as he had no competition whatsoever at first. You could see towards the end that as the huns began to improve we were beginning to struggle. The football was rubbish to watch and we were struggling to win games by the time he left. I think he's massively overrated.

It's been a masterclass by the board in releasing controlled leaks, in order to gauge supporter reaction and gradually wean us into wanting him back..

I don't think he's overated or underrated I just think he struggles to maintain success and standards the further along he is in a job.
Alot of managers who play pressing high possession football tend to do really well initially for a year or two then things begin to get abit stale, and tbh they were signs that was potentially happening under ange also towards the end, cause even before the spurs talk kicked off our performances were poor for a long time I thought.

I mind reading an interview with muller and he was saying that by the end of peps second season at Bayern the team were completely exhausted, so maybe its a by product of that style of football.

Don't worry about 2 seasons down the line, just concentrate on the here and now.

I do think there is a significance in BR coming back, this will be reflected in the deal that has been agreed.

This will likely go well at the beginning, a new system meaning teams will struggle against us for a while as we will have the quality.
In the long term I think we have to be prepared for players to leave which I think Rodgers had an issue with that in the past, and as a club we did too. If players want to leave cash in while you can but have ideas about replacing them.

He left us with the best run of form we’d been in since the invincible season

I'd have to look it up to be sure but what I can remember is us winning a lot of games by one goal and it being a struggle. It wasn't enjoyable to watch. I hope he succeeds and I'll be there supporting the team as usual. I won't be cheering or clapping for him though - not to start with anyway.

Has anybody started a ‘Would you accept Postecoglou back as manager?’ thread yet….

I want a genuine poll.. not one that swings the moment it looks like a goer.

I think worrying about 2 seasons from now is pretty valid, based on his record here and in other jobs. I don't trust him one bit to build us into something stronger long term.

That's your opinion mate and you're entitled to it, i think there will be trepidation amongst many supporters no doubt, but we canny spoil today by worrying about tomorrow, i want to hear the terms of the deal and the plans going forward.

We could be welcoming someone like Maresca right now, how long would he be here ? , every appointment carries a risk, but at least this time the Board have presented a vision of ambition, may not come to fruition but at least it shows some forward thinking.
