Absolutely bonkers appointment if it happens. Celtic need long term stability, not someone who has form for running players into the ground and * off at the first sniff of the EPL.

We need someone who can push us on in Europe. BR has never won a knockout tie in Europe, for any club.

We need someone to build on Anges transfer strategy. The less said about Rodgers' record on transfers the better.

Bottle job from the board who are clearly only wanting the league won. In our current position of strength we should be aiming higher. If reports are to be believed that they're going to put him on EPL level wages, why tf not have a more thorough search if you're putting that amount of money out?

Well, at least he can drop his disguise when he shows up at Celtic Park now.

Got to question the ambitions of the board bringing back the rat whos European record is behind the couch stuff and just want domestic dominance but a stronger sevco team from last time the rat was manager.
We won't be any better in Europe in fact could be embarrassing as his record is pish and can't believe the board didn't go for a coach that has a good track record in Europe and it's * depressing thinking him back at the club .

Yeah definitely. Sinclair being a good example. He wasn’t coming up here if it was Deila, Lennon or even Ange. We will still be looking for some of the more unknown players like your Abadas, Jotas who we didn’t have a clue about and have become successful players with us but I can definitely see a well known player coming up from down South if BR is appointed.

Agree with this. Rodgers would be a lazy appointment for me and a Broony as his assistant even lazier. Waiting for Larsson to be suggested suggested for coaching the strikers.
There’s loads of upcoming managers out there ffs.

I definitely wouldn't want him back. The football in his last couple of years here was boring and I thought he was beginning to struggle. Slippy was beginning to get a bit if success against him. He got a bit lucky here - I know he won 7 of 7 trophies but there really was no opposition. The Huns at that time had just been promoted and had * players and managers. That's not the case to the same extent now. I actually think he might be found out if he comes back up here. I also just don't like him.

There's lots of managers out there and with the clubs football information they should have approached some managers and asked the question but it seems we are looking at unemployed managers and think Celtic are better than that .

I don't agree that he's a top manager. His last team just got relegated. He's won one trophy outside Scotland (play-offs and Community shields aren't real trophies). I think we'd go backwards if he came back.
Apart from that his football was pretty turgid towards the end and tbh I wasn't really looking forward to going to the games. I just hate the thought of having to see him in the technical area. It's actually depressing me to think about it.

Can we trust him not throw a hissy fit when the club want to sell talent for decent fees as he has been horrendous at handling talent throughout his entire career in management?

This is where I feel like his ego gets in the way of him being a manager who can take it up another level.

He's a disingenuous spinner of tales at the best of times and an outright liar at the worst of times... I simply just do not trust Rodgers to keep the squad harmonised and in sync.

People can moan about Ange all they want but are sure Rodgers could handle the sales of Juranovic and Giakoumakis any better without it having a larger effect on the overall squad?

I'm sure he will bring titles domestically within his first season but if he has any say whatsoever about who comes in and who get sold I feel he will undo a lot of good work.

I dunno, I just don't trust him and his well documented egotistical rubbish

I'm not a big fan of the guy but he is a top manager, not elite - Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancelotti etc. - but the rung below that. It's daft to pretend otherwise.

He took Swansea up to the Premiership at the first ask and then kept them up comfortably the following season (I think they finished 11th)

Then took over at Liverpool and had them a Gerrard slip away from their first title in decades.

Had 2 consecutive 5th place finishes with Leicester spending nowhere near what the big boys do, won the FA Cup, took them.to SF of the UEFA conference only to be sneaked by from Mourinho's Roma.

He wouldn't be my first pick, he wouldn't be 4th pick but to pretend he's not a top manager is silly. His record speaks for itself.

Seen a post on social media that the poster would take Rodgers because he would get the better of Beale.

I thought it was an embarrassing post. The measure shouldnt be to only be better than them. It should be to win as much as we possibly can.

Our ambition should stretch further than to just beat Michael Beales Rangers.

The difference for me this time is even though I won’t buy his bullshit…I don’t think he would make the same mistake twice.
