Thats exactly it you look at their signings

    Norwich player injury prone
    Guy on loan at Stoke
    Goalie barely played for years
Guy from atalanta looks like colak mk2

Cuntwell showed up well when pressure was off as did raskin when it mattered they where hiding but because he does a wee sissy dance and moved a water bottle he is a hero the same way Kent was idolised for punching broony

Have been thinking that myself when reading people say "we're up against a new team these days! The Beale brigade."

Rodgers would wipe the floor with Beale and even in some other world where he was backed with major money, Rodgers would wipe the floor with him.

Still a chance he could go to Leeds instead?

Apparently interviewed with them yesterday and they are deciding whether to offer the role to him or Farke.

I don't rate a majority of their signings but I do think there is a difference between current signings who have mostly played in top flight football where as apart from Barton, Hill and Senderos (was he the come in your face one?), none had played top flight outside of SPL. They were 34, 38 and 32 years old so well past their sell by date.

Really not liking the overconfidence some people seem to have in Rodgers schooling the huns if he comes back, they were fighting for third putting a massive 70 points on the board when he was here before, last two seasons they hit 89 and 92, only the invincible year beats that, they are objectively a better more consistent team now. If we played anything like the slow side to side possesion stuff we did after his first year things could turn sour pretty quickly.

ANYONE is a risk, Ange was a risk that paid off. If the club are going to spend serious cash, I'd sooner Rodgers returned. He knows the country, game, club and expectations.

Aye of course, but I meant it in a “I told you so” sort of way.

I think he could tempt some serious established talent to sign and he’s wanting to to make sure the budget is there for it.

Another left field appointment and we are going to have to bank on some projects working out and unknowns. Worked with most of the Japanese players Ange brought in but don’t think we will have that luxury of someone knowing a league inside out where a lot of teams don’t shop.

In Rodgers first game they had players like Clint Hill, Kenny Miller, Beerman, Holt, Dodoo, forrester, etc.
The gulf was massive. It took them years to close the gap and assemble a team capable of competing.

I think it would be a good idea to appoint an assistant with a view for them to take over the job after Rodgers, or whoever else it is, decides to leave in 2/3 years. Someone like Scott Brown for example. They gain good experience from a top coach during that time, then they are ready to take the next step.

ITK chat is that it was agreed in Spain , just about getting the coaching staff in place to unveil them as a package .

Aye a name like Rodgers convinces most of the players that we have a manager here to help them and that they would want to play under. Much like Ange.

He would add to the squad and then we see what they all do together.

A low end name runs the risk of a fair few not seeing their ambitions being met and looking elsewhere sooner rather than later.
Makes signing established players harder and running the risk, as you say, of singing projects that may not work out.

I don't think we will be getting anyone who isn't looking to use us as a stepping stone tbh mate.

Actually thought there'd have been some significant updates today, not necessarily announced but it's been quiet so far.

Wonder if it'll be later in the week before we hear anything substantial.
