    Billy McNeill?
    Ancelotti at Real?
    The Cardigan at the Huns?

    And then according to Google...

    Lippi at Juve.
    Capello at Real.
    Tony Pullis at Stoke.
    Rednap at Portsmouth

Don't think there would be any problem with fan reaction if Rodgers were to return, he's knows how to win football matches, that'll always keep supporters happy.

Even if he were here for 2 seasons and then left at the end, it would go some way to right the wrong of his last departure.

Having said all that i would be really surprised if he wanted to come back tbh, but you just never know.

I'd be happy tae see him back mate, think he could work wonders with this group of players plus a few quality additions, but i understand why many would be against it.

I almost said that; but he really did * it with that last season. I'm still convinced there was some mental health problem behind that personally.

Aslong as he's brings me a bag a cans anaw all is forgiven.

Serious note tho. It's a no brainer in terms of what we want in a manager.

Does my want of success outweight the negative feelings I had towards the way he left? Bring the man home, finish the huns off once and for all. We're about to overtake there apparent records there's no point gambling on it.

It's frightening how many people want him back.

He'd be a failure if given the job again.

What makes you think he'd fail to win anything?

    Not being smarmy, genuinely curious.

The huns were that weak when he came it was as close to a free hit as you can get in the league, I really don't understand this confidence some people have about him doing it again second time around, especially with how quickly it stagnated after the first season and the recruitment in his time, he'd be as big a gamble as anyone imo not some safe pair of hands.

He did manage to successfully navigate two brutal CL qualifying campaigns with guys like Saidy Janko and Eoghann O'Connell in 2016/2017 and then without a striker v Rosenborg in 2017/2018.

He managed to avoid defeat in two games v Man City in 16-17 and at least finished 3rd in 17-18. That's not bad for two absolutely brutal groups. Ange got us our lowest ever points total in the CL in what was a very favourable group.

He went onto win the FA Cup with Leicester and secure two 5th place finishes.

I think if he hadn't left in such acrimonious circumstances there would be a lot more honesty about his CV. It's far more impressive than Potter's for instance and just about every other candidate.

I'm not sure he'll want to come back but if he were open to it I'd be delighted to have him again.

I think that's where things need to change from our side.

By all accounts, if you look at the 3/4 players he wanted in on his last couple of transfer windows, they would have been very good signings. Schar, Piccini/Castagne and McGinn were guys he wanted in and he got none of them. Culminating in a very embarrassing public display with Lawwall over the whole McGinn fiasco.

That being said, the transfers we did bring in weren't all great but a lot needs to be asked on who were signing all these guys and it was clear as day, Rodgers was starting to feel undermined. We all seen the press conferences with regards to Kouassi and Shved. He wasn't happy.

I'm not against him getting the job(I would prefer Knutsen/Iraiola/Janson) but there would need to be a clear line that we have a new structure in place in recruitment. He is, of course, allowed to have an opinion on players we look at and the positions we need to strengthen but he needs to do what he does best and that's coach the players we bring in. Let the scouts/recruitment team get the players in for the position you need and then coach them players to be better.

I don't think anyone can say with absolute certainty that we would win and be successful with him. No one can say that about any potential manager, though. He should be asking for the undermining from the board/Lawwall to take a back seat and he and the recruitment need to be backed properly. He was rightfully * off with the way the club was being run, especially after bringing in close to £60m in Champions League money over two years AND £20m for Dembele. You can hardly blame him for being * off. (Not denying the timing of his departure was ratty and slimy, just pointing out that there were clearly other factors at play)

He won 7 trophies out of 7 up here, 2 5th placed finishes with Leicester and an FA Cup win. He's an excellent coach and anyone suggesting otherwise is letting previous attitudes cloud their judgement. Yes, the football was beginning to go stale, we needed a shake up, especially in that third season but we could all see there was issues between him and the board.

He's not top of my list by any stretch but I think he's probably as risk free of an appointment as you could get up here. I don't need to 'forgive him' like some folk claim. If he decides to come back up and manage the club, it's clearly because he wants to. Anyone who wants to take his inevitable bullshit to the grave are only setting themselves up for failure and Ange will be the last manager I do that with. We would be silly not to talk to him to see what it would take. He doesn't come in with the mad terms he had before though. He comes in as part of a structure and he works within that structure. If that's not for him? No problem, we will find someone who is.

He'd probably be OK but would rather move on to something new and different, like Knutsen.
