Fully fit Essien. A complete powerhouse going forward and at the back.

Iniesta will never be sold by Barcelona, no matter the bid. He's a Catalan, thus a more iconic player for the fans, regardless of his talent. Same thing with Busquetes. That is why it wasn't such a big deal for them to sell Toure.

Such a shame that a fully fit Essien won't appear again, his body is * I'm afraid.

I never said it was a good idea. No need to put words into my mouth.

But your all saying that the reasons Toure replaced Busquets was for money. And I am saying money wasn't a massive factor. If Pep wanted him he would still be here.

Pep wants Iniesta regardless of the money that was offered.

That doesn't mean that Busquets is a better player.

You said Thiago could replace Iniesta. That wasn't putting words in your mouth. There is a big difference between Iniesta and Yaya Toure. Iniesta is one of the best players in history, Yaya Toure and Busquets while being amazing players can't be counted in that same bracket.

They are no Claude Makele's or Marcel Desially at his peak. Both good players but both of them are very replacable.

Yaya Toure is a better all round player than Busquets, however as the Barcelona team stands Busquets is the perfect thing that is required for them. However it did take him around 18 months to reach Yaya's level of consistancy in a Barcelona shirt.

Yaya got sold because the amount of money that was offered, simple as that. If a £30m bid comes in for Busquets he also will be out the door because he is replacable.

Messi, Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta are irreplacable. They wouldn't be sold for any amount of money.

That isn't a slight on Busquets, it's just the truth.

I said but I never said it was a good idea. If Iniesta left tomorrow Thiago could step in and do a fantastic job. But Pep want Iniesta so he still here.

He didn't want Toure, Eto'o and Ibra. So they have been moved on. Those 3 players would struggle to make Barça's first team right now.

Got to be Busquets, reads the game perfectly nicks the ball well of players and can drop back into centre-back to let Pique roam. Very intelligent player and great usage of the ball.

Suprised Schweinsteiger isnt included though, id say he was a great defensive midfielder probably second best although he can play too. Banega is more of a playmaker than defensive player.

The mighty Darren Fletcher could even be among the voting instead of Gareth Barry!

That is insane bias from you Badger, Eto'o on top form would be in that team no problem on his ability. The problem was his attiude and it's the reason Ronaldinho and Deco got the bullet as well. I agree with Ibra even though he is a fantastic player, better than Pedro. However he isn't as suited to Barcelona's style and that's the argument between Yaya and Busquets.

Busquet suits Barcelona to an absolute tee. It doesn't mean he is a better player. Ibra and Eto'o are both far, far more accomplished than Pedro it doesn't mean that Pedro is better because suddenly they don't play at Barcelona.

Barcelona is not the measurement of the best individual positions on the planet, they are the best team on the planet but that's exactly what they are, a team who perfectly work with each other.

The whole point of these votes are to make the perfect team though so its obvious Xavi and Iniesta will be in there so you need Busquets too :86:

If I was trying to pick the best team id pick the Barcelona team but with Neuer in goals, maybe Marcelo or Lahm at left-back and that would probably be it possibly Rooney instead of Villa.

If it's the best team just put Barcelona in and be done with it. With C. Ronaldo replacing Pedro.

It's the best individual players, made into a team. That's why we are voting on it like this :50:

Oh and the reason Busquets is perfect for Barcelona is Gerard Pique not Xavi and Iniesta :icon_mrgreen:

I would pput Rooney in instead of Ronaldo and id replace Villa instead of Pedro 90% possession a game :50:

    Neuer
    Alves Pique Puyol Marcelo
    Xavi Busquets Iniesta
    Pedro Messi Rooney

    Marcelo instead of Abidal? Really?

I know he's came on leaps and bounds the last year or so but I still don't think he surpassed Abidal. Never mind Lahm or Ashley Cole.

I give my opinion and its insane bias. Someone else gives their opinion and it isn't? Whit the *.

Eto'o is one of my all time favourite players.I love him but he wouldn't get into Barca's team right now

Tore did suit Barca's style that's why he was at Barca for three years. Pep preferred Busquets in the end.

I never once said that Barcelona is the measurement of the best in individual positions for * sake. That is certainly putting words into my mouth.

Aye could be but that's a very high accolade you've gave him here.

I'm a bit uneasy with this thread, players like Xabi Alonso I don't class as a defensive midfielder but a Deep Lying Playmaker. Think there is a massive difference there.

Marcelo was arguably the best LB in the world last season or certainly up there, abidal is solid and reliable but theres nothing outstanding about him imo.
