No no monkey chanting now, but 15-20 years ago it was widespread by all accounts..
It is one of the most racist countries i have ever been in, and i have been in a good few countries..
I would never say look on Ireland/N Ireland as a torchbears of tolerence.
What i am saying is the media in England are less touchy when it happens in England but are quick to condem any other country that does it..
You have to remember alot of Eastern Europe is countries which havent had multi culturial immigration, banning them from International competions is not going to help that one bit...

There is a nice bunch of deluded anti-serbs on this forum, which is really sad to see. I think its hilarious that some people STILL belive everything what English press say or write.

I'm not a racist, and I hate racism. Yesterday English players (little overrated * btw) provoked our fans, and minority of our fans answered with monkey chants. I belive that majority of Serbian people (including me) don't support this bunch of * who are calling themselves "Serbian fans". Today I'm reading how there were about 30000 people doing the monkey chant, how some English players and coaches are calling FIFA to kick Serbia out of every competition, etc. *?!?

It's known that English players like to provoke rival fans and players when they're playing away. It's also known that black players from England like to play on racism card whenever they can. First they provoke, then they wait and act like they are innocent because there will ALWAYS be one idiot, and this idiot will do the monkey chant. After that they call for the FA to react because of this. They are always doing this when they are playing in the eastern Europe, because there is a huge stereotype that everybody who live in any country of eastern europe is a racist.

According to first video, you can see Rose running away after he has done something (we don't know what), and then you can see both Serbian and English players who are trying to calm down everybody. Later, you can see English coach ragging like an idiot and trying to fight with somebody. Also, commentators on this video are absolutely on English side, and according to them Serbian stuff and players want to kill everybody who are wearing english shirts (*?!?).

This yahoo * is unbelievable stupid. Serbians fans HATE Mihajlovic because he * up our national team. When he became our manager half of Serbia was for his appointment (he was a great player, he learned his trade in Italy, he can motivate players...), while the other half was against (he has very little experience, he's very young manager, he was not really an example how you should behave when you are with your national team when he was a player). This * about Arkan is ridiculous. If his friend was a mafia boss that doesn't mean that Mihajlovic is or was in mafia or other criminal jobs ffs!!!

And please remember that Serbs are normal people as you are or everybody else are on this planet. We are not some long bearded maniacs who rape women, kill men and eat children ffs! Sorry for my english, I know it sucks.

Just seen the footage. They should be banned for what happened on the pitch. The fans are one thing but there's no way professional players/staff should be getting away with that.

You call us deluded but the only one who sounds deluded in this post is you, Serbians clearly have this defiant attitude that's why your all posting on here saying it takes 2 to fight etc even when its clear to see your fans are in the wrong and the majority of people on here haven't been influenced by any English media report we have all seen the proof on you tube and i don't believe for one second that they only began the monkey chants in retaliation after the England players 'provoked them' but there is NO EXCUSE either way.

 

They are only giving abuse to that one player, when half the England team were black. He clearly done something to them to get them on his back.

I think he kicked the ball into the crowd and i wouldn't blame him if he was getting racially abused then obviously because serbia had lost and emotions were running high the players all kicked off that's what i think happened anyway.

 

Wrong i watched the game as i as betting on it inplay . The England players was abused with monkey chants before a ball was kicked during the warm up .It continued during the game and until full time . The England keeper and players was attacked by stones and coins during the game .

 

The day the British media stop doing things like this to manipulate peoples minds people might be more beliving of them.

Easily you have been fined 3 times in the past for racism or violence - Italy away , England away in Holland , Wales at home , then England again last night .

Time to ban the scum fines do not work. Serbia are repeat offenders and should be hammered by a ban .

 

Yes, here in Serbia we have this habit to start with the monkey chants whenever we see a black guy walking through the city for no reason.
On that video you can hear that whole stadium is yelling UA or UUUU (two common ways of expressing anger on sporting events in Serbia, and they have no connections with the monkey chanting) except one or two idiots who are sitting near the guy with camera, and they are screaming the monkey chant (u-u-u-u).

Anyway, i came in here to ask what people thought about the odds on England to beat Poland...23/20 at Hills, which i think are very good.....but ended up reading the dispute about the Serbian U21 game last night.Half an hour i'll never get back!
