But nobody can compare to Gerd Müller. He scored his 68 goals in only 62 matches.

 

true, i wasnt around to see him but hes one of the best strikers ever without a doubt.

 

He was my childhood hero. Now he is an assistant coach for Bayern's reserve team. When they played against the Stuttgarter Kickers a coule of years ago, I met him when he was just getting out of their coach and took the chance to tell him that he was one of my alltime favourite players and he seemed rellay surprised that a non-Bayern supporter could even remember him. Absolut class guy

 

Klose has overtook him as far as I'm aware, Muller had 68, Klose's just got to 69 has he not?

 

Germany have always had great teams, mental really. They always seem to produce quality in every position constantly and good alround players too, good size, good pace, good technique. By far Europes best football country. Always had goalscorers from midfield forward too in their teams.

 

And more importantly, they seem to be able to keep the majority of the players' feet on the ground and instil a good work ethic.
