World cup play-off draw:
Portugal v Sweden
Ukraine v France
Greece v Romania
Iceland v Croatia

Some pretty interesting games there.

Fancy Sweden, France, Greece and Croatia to go through. However if they don't improve on their 2 performances against Scotland, Iceland have a great chance of qualifying.

 

Hmm... Very stupid, both Sweden and Portugal deserve it more than Greece or Romania. I have to be fair, although I always support Greece.
So, we won't see Cristiano or Zlatan...
Well, come on Portugal and Greece!
I knew that France would get the easiest possible opponent. When it is difficult, old good Michel is always there to help-Ireland, than that "penalty" against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EURO 2012 qualification group which helped them to win the group and avoid play-offs, now, the easiest opponent.
Croatian team is not so great these days, but Iceland will be an easy hunt for them.

 

Portugal - Sweden should be a couple of brilliant games. I think Portugal might just edge it

 

Portugal, Ukraine, Greece and Croatia. I think they will go through but I really want Sweden and Iceland to make it.

 

Shame Portugal and Sweden got each other. I want both of them to be in it.

That's a dodgy tie for France, I'm not sure they'll qualify. Sammy's boys shouldn't have too much to worry about, neither do the Croats.

Portugal v Sweden will be a cracker, mon Ibracadabra and Lustig!

 

Sweden v Portugal easily the best matchup of those games. Croatia given how poor they have been lately have to be happy getting Iceland. Tough tie for France against Ukraine. But they have been playing well and should have enough to win that. Same for Greece against Romania. The Greeks should have enough to get through that tie as well.

 

By the way as an aside from an Irish perspective all eyes on the Greece v Romania tie. If Greece wins then it seems Ireland will actually be in the second pot of seeds for the next European Championships qualifying draw.

 

It is sad two of the most exciting players Ronaldo and Zlatan only one can make it I hope it's Zlatan and Sweden also would like to see France Romania and Iceland as Greece and Ukraine are probably the two most boring teams to watch. It would make a change to see Iceland at the WC as well.

 

You forget back in 2010 the likes of Muller, Ozil, Khedira and Neuer had just been promoted from the U21 side and weren't well known outside Germany. It is easy to say they had the better team with hindsight knowing how that Germany side has developed.

Anyway I came on here to talk about the draw. The Portugal Sweden play off will be a cracker.

 

Hope France get put out with a clearly offside goal that is punched in and doesn't cross the line, but the ref allows it, would settle for that

 

I think Sweden will KO Portugal, Portugal have been garbage for a while, struggle to score goals and seem to concede a few. Only got 21 points in a Group with Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg = 18 points on a plate.

 

Only took 5 off Azerbaijan, 5 off N.Ireland and 5 off Luxembourg in 2 games against each of them. Scotland could probably have took 15 goals off those 3 in 6 games.

It's a shame either Ronaldo or Ibra won't be in the World Cup.
