That is true as well, Arkan was an idiot who, people maybe do not know, used to rob even Serbian houses, but if someone saves you life, I couldn't accuse you for supporting him although he is a first class idiot. And after all, nobody mentions that some players threat Mihajlović that "they hope their guys will kill your (Mihajlović's) family" even before the war started.

True. Anyone who speaks Serbian or used to live in the area of ex Yugoslavia can confirm that. Even people who watch Belgrade derby will notice that, even when the ball is controlled by a white player of the rival team.

Celtic Serbia ( lovely avatar I must notice, and like a " Serbian *" I must notice it is a coat of arm of the Nemanjićs who used to eat with a gold fork while royal families on the west used to eat with hands-and now I am talking like a typical Serb, am I not :icon_mrgreen::bbpd and Cofi, my friends do not waste your time. The huge percent of people here has never been in Serbia or even met a Serb. After all, we had never had slaves, we were not slaveholders like the English were and I have never said all of them were racist. They had a racist captain and I have never said their team should be banned, because I do not think England or their NT are like Terry. We have idiots among the fans, just like them and al countries around the world. And you can also notice that people talk about racism and troubles only when it comes to Serbs, but nobody mentions it when it comes from other ex-Yu republics. Some people can say they act like chauvinists towards us or that they are ignorant. For example, I am sure that richardm will have more stories to tell them when he comes back from Belgrade.

 

Don't think anybody's saying that it happens all the time or that Serbians naturally hate black people, it's just kind of a bad thing that this is what gets resorted to when you're provoked by the English. That's how it appears from the outside (somewhat anti-English to be told) perspective.

 

And I'm reading French, Spanish, and Argentina reports and they're saying the same things before anybody says that I'm only reading stuff from the English. Three countries which can hardly be said to be friends of the Queen.

 

I think the scenes (on and off the pitch) were quite disgraceful. And any supporter found to be racially abusing a player should be dealt with accordingly.

However the idea of the English FA/media preaching to others about how to deal with racism is quite frankly laughable.

I've argued with many a poster on here about how over-hyped players like Ferdinand, Cole, Terry etc are. People call these guys World Class LOL.

Seriously, you want to see a World Class Defender, check out Kompany's goal against Scotland the other night.

 

I dont think England are over rated as nobody rates them. From about 2001-2007 they had a lot of quality in their team but never done anything, although they should have been able to do better and were one of the top 5 European teams. Now though they dont have much quality and are closer to the level of Sweden, Poland, Russia, Croatia etc than they are top the top 5 or so European teams.

 

It all stems from the sucess the English teams have in Champs League, but they fail to notice that most of the squads are full of forigners with maybe 1 or 2 english players.
Altho i think Cole is definatly up there with the best, maybe not now but he was..

The 3 you mentioned were at one time world class in their careers, cole still is.

 

Cole is, Ferdinand was, Terry was never.....a great ball-winning CB but he needs a Carvalho or Rio sweeping up behind him.

Isn't as good against smaller, tricky strikers imo and my assessment of him in an England shirt is...the better the opponent, the worse he plays.

England, for a nation of 50 million people, are terrible at football.....1 final in their history, in a tournament they hosted, and I think 2 semi finals since then.

I believe that was Portugal's 4th semi final in the last 5 tournaments......with a loss to Spain in the last 16 in South Africa being the other time.

Italy have reached 9 finals.....if Italy or Germany had England's record on the international stage they'd be * embarrassed.

 

I have to disagree well, i hate him with a passion but i thought he was world class level for a good few years, might not be aswell rounded as a past Rio or kompany atm but he was great nonetheless........ imo.

 

Just their own hyped up media rates them.
